Manager of IT Support & Security

This role will be responsible for ensuring that the IT Support team operates efficiently, effectively and in line with organizational goals. This position will work closely with senior executives and department heads to identify, develop and support new technology solutions. This role will also be responsible for creating and ensuring adherence to organizational IT/Security policy, procedures and best practices as well as security protocols.
This position will be responsible for the planning and design of data and communications networks. The responsibilities of these roles will overlap in some organizations, especially in startups and SMBs, however most enterprises and government agencies employ specialized professionals (or teams of professionals) in each position.

In addition to hard technical skills, the IT Support Manager needs to understand the companys business needs in order to design efficient, secure and scalable systems that align with strategic goals. With a firm grasp on the business issues, the manager can help direct the system architecture and implementation, carefully considering aspects like which hardware, software and infrastructure will be best suited to the projects at hand.

Responsibilities
Manage a team that currently consists of 4 Network/Systems Engineers/Admins, and a small help desk team to ensure core business requirements are met.
Contribute to the overall engineering, design, build and high-level support of all existing and new core infrastructure and system applications.
Work closely with internal business and technology teams to find solutions to problems those groups face.
Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of all systems.
Responsible for providing trend analysis to enable informed decisions regarding resource management and capital expenditures.
Responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving infrastructure and system issues.
Responsible for developing, documenting, maintaining and enforcing security protocols.
Work with the engineers to respond to external security audits and to conduct internal audits.

Qualifications
Solid understanding of networking, cloud computing, software development life cycle, data storage, virtualization, mobile and wireless technologies
Minimum 5+ years managing a small team of engineers/admins/support
8+ years overall experience working in Windows environments. Technical experience should be strong across:
Switching, routing, and firewall technologies (Cisco or Juniper preferred)
VMware VSphere 5.5/6
Understanding of internet protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
Knowledge of Microsoft SQL 2005, 2008 & 2012, and SCCM 2012 preferred
Netscaler v10.5, Netapp SAN Cluster Mode, EMC Avamar, MobileIron MDM, APC, or eCopy
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related preferred
Citrix CCNA (or higher) or VCP certification preferred
