Job Title Manager of Instructional Operations Status Full Time FTE 1 Classification Title Classified Grade D Job Summary

The Manager of Instructional Operations serves as a centralized liaison and manager for instructional operational processes, systems, technology, and student/college data. This position works with schedule planning and course selections and is highly collaborative with departments throughout the college to manage the curriculum data and operational processes and ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience in higher education.

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience working in Microsoft Office with extensive use of Excel and database software systems.

  • Familiarity with current educational computer systems and platforms (Ellucian Colleague, Acalog, Curriculog, Simple Syllabus).

  • Experience accessing and reporting data through mainframe and web-based systems.

  • Possess the highest degree of integrity, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Self-starter with high problem-solving skills.

  • Attention to detail with the ability to communicate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree.

  • Experience managing reporting and compliance is beneficial.

  • Knowledge of academic processes, including but not limited to credit schedule planning and the course section building process preferred.

This role may also involve standing and walking for periods of time, and the use of hands and moving objects of up to 10 lbs., and on occasion, up to 25 lbs.

Work Hours Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week Salary Pay Range is $22.62-$35.23 per hour

Assists instructional operations to assure operational and curriculum practices are aligned with institutional, contractual, state, and federal compliance and policy requirements specific to accreditation, the Department of Education, the State of Michigan, and other essential agencies.

Coordinates the management of curricular records, resources, and data in preparation for Curriculum Committee, institutional, Board of Trustees, and accreditor curriculum approvals, ensuring accuracy and quality in preparation for launch utilizing technology system such as Colleague SIS, Acalog catalog, Curriculog curriculum development, Simple Syllabus, or other solutions as appropriate.

Manages timelines, data entry, and data integrity between systems, to meet reporting requirements for internal and external stakeholders including State, Federal, or accrediting agencies, organizations, or other entities.

Coordinates the development, implementation, and monitoring of State Reports such as MPDI, Capital Outlay, or other state or federal reporting requirements with Research and Analytics, Chief Financial Officer, and other key stakeholders.

Collaborate with the Registrar's Office and other stakeholders during and after curricular launch to clarify the data used for transcripts, financial aid, transfer credits, administering degrees, or other key data needs.

Coordinates the communications for submission of final grades at end of each semester and collaborates to support grading practices, policies, and outcomes.

Collaborates on the development and accuracy of content of semester credit schedules ensuring accuracy of campus resources and providing data to inform decision making while adhering to state and federal requirements.

Collaborates with other departments in managing the College building/room database, building coordinators, with campus and space utilization efficiency and institutional construction initiatives.
