Summary of Responsibilities:

Responsible for cost effective, efficient processing of inbound goods including receipt, inspection, kit assembly, as well as, any order processing and shipping requirements from the S&S satellite distribution center.

Primary Duties:

  • Directs supervisory staff for multiple business units within the Norwich facility. Responsible for associate performance management and annual review process. Assists upper management in planning and managing staffing levels based upon sales projections and performance. Responsible for the daily management and security of the Norwich warehouse.

  • Plans, organizes and controls processing/assembly requirements through coordination and cooperation with Purchasing/Planning to determine and facilitate the assignment, set-up and processing of requirements within customer driven timeframes.

  • Communicates and coordinates with partners within multiple business units to ensure that all requirements across multiple platforms are balanced and a high level of customer service satisfaction is maintained.

  • Manages relationships with outside processing organizations and determines usage based upon plan and need.

  • Ensures that high levels of quality are maintained within processes and that inventory accuracy and utilization are controlled.

  • Researches, recommends and implements methods of improving productivity, cost effectiveness and quality of product and process for both internal and external operations

  • Develops standards of operation for functions, monitors adherence to standards.

  • Analyzes and monitors inbound processing costs; recommends and implements changes.

  • Prepares, submits and implements annual expense budget, labor costs, manpower requirements for managed departments.

  • Develops and improves policies and procedures related to processing and supportive distribution activities. Ensures that related training programs are developed and implemented. Engages in any directed company process improvement projects and activities.

  • Sets productivity goals and manages output and job completion.

  • Responsible for ensuring a safe work environment following all legal and company guidelines. Communicates effectively with facility services department or outside vendor to ensure that any state of disrepair is remedied promptly.


  • College Degree in supply chain preferred

  • Minimum 7 years supply chain experience

  • Knowledge and experience of production control methods, techniques and standards along with an understanding with standard distribution methods and processes..

  • Experience with Excel and ERP/WMS systems in practical business settings

  • Strong math capabilities and logical process orientation

  • Ability to react and adjust quickly to changing conditions; able to set priorities and manage multiple responsibilities; good time management skills

  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of operation

  • Proven ability to work under pressure

  • Must have knowledge of personnel practices, labor laws, EPA, OSHA, Fire/Safety regulations with regulatory compliance

Key Measurements:

  • Adherence to establish deadlines, inventory and shipment accuracy, process waste control, budget cost control, vendor compliance requirements and productivity standards.

  • Well-trained & efficient staff; Good safety record

  • Clear, documented procedures communicated to staff

  • Increased annual productivity without an increase in staffing

  • Recommends ideas for improved operations productivity, efficiency and cost effectiveness

Primary Duties: * Package product in proper bag/box using bag tiers, tape machines, heat sealers and other packaging equipment needed. * Responsible for meeting efficiency and productivity standards. * Verifies quantities, completes production paper work, and properly labels all items leaving work area including finished goods and return to stock items. * Create license plates and make systematic transactions. * Cross-trains in other areas of the Company to be able to transfer during peak times. * May be required to rotate to other functions based on production flow. * Performs general housekeeping of area as directed. * Follows all departmental procedures and established polices for effective operation of the Processing area. * Other duties as required by Supervisor or Manager. Qualifications: * High School diploma or GED * Manual dexterity and visual acuity * Ability to work at a steady pace * Must have good eye and hand coordination and good corrected vision. * Must be able to work standing for long periods of time and stoop, bend, twist as necessary to package and assemble. * Must be able to concentrate while performing repetitive tasks and keep accurate count of finished pieces. * Must be able to work at different locations, workstations and alternate between machine and handwork. * Must be able to read and interpret instructions, make mathematical calculations and take accurate measurements. * Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
