POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Manager of Clinical Experience and Community Partnerships is a critical leadership position within the Physician Assistant Program at Case Western Reserve University. The manager will be responsible for providing support for the 12-month clinical curriculum for the physician assistant program.
The manager will work closely with the faculty in these roles: director of clinical curriculum, clinical coordinator, and coordinator of experiential learning and community service. This role demands a strategic approach to developing, managing, and enhancing clinical experiences and community partnerships integral to the program.
The manager is responsible for navigating the complexities of healthcare environments and maintaining robust, mutually beneficial relationships with a wide array of community healthcare partners.
In this high-stakes role, the manager must adeptly balance the program's educational objectives with the dynamic needs of clinical sites and the evolving healthcare landscape. The role demands a high level of problem-solving skills, adaptability, and the ability to foresee and mitigate risks that could impact the program's reputation, student learning outcomes, and partnerships.

CONTACTS
Department: Continuous contact with program faculty to support all pre-clinical, clinical year, and experiential learning/community service activities.
University: Continuous contact with program leadership and faculty.
Occasional contact with relevant university marketing and communications staff. Regular contact with the office of general counsel regarding affiliation agreements and legal compliance. Occasional contact with procurement and distribution services, accounts payable, university technology, University Health and Counseling Services, security, and facilities personnel, among others, for the purpose of managing special projects. Frequent contact with the school of medicine registrar's office for course management.
External: Continuous contact with clinical sites, alumni, and contacts of the program for community partnerships, clinical site development, and employment opportunities.
Frequent contact with national professional organizations, clinical partners, consultants, freelancers, public and private foundations, and other outside agencies for developing strategic partnerships. Occasional contact with peer programs for the purpose of professional collaboration.
Students: Continuous contact with current students regarding pre-clinical, experiential learning/community service, and clinical activities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
No direct supervision of employees.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: 3 years of administrative experience in an academic/medical setting required. 2+ years as a clerkship administrator for one of the medical school core clerkships or familiarity with physician assistant education and accreditation standards is preferred. Familiarity with local hospital clerkship programs is a plus.
Education/Licensing: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in a related field preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Typical office environment. Working with a computer, keyboard, and mouse daily.
Flexibility in scheduling, including weekends and evenings. Hybrid work environment.
Hybrid Eligibility
This position is eligible for hybrid work arrangement up to two remote days per week at the discretion of the department. New employees may begin a hybrid schedule upon approval from the supervisor, successful completion of an orientation period and signing the remote work checklist certification form.
