The Manager of Cardiac Cath Lab is responsible for

all departmental functions in support of the hospital mission, vision and facility goals. The Manager plans, directs, and coordinates administrative activities of the Cardiac Cath Lab and Recovery sections of the Cath Lab and daily department operations. The Manager identifies the cost-effective systems needed to support the business of the department taking into account business trends, resource availability and changes in customers. The Manager assists the service line leaders in recommending and evaluation of capital equipment, supplies, operational efficiencies, new technology and process modifications. This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies, including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors. The Manager works closely with cardiovascular physician leadership to execute operational improvement opportunities. The Manager identifies and remedies through continuous customer satisfaction data and employee involvement. The department Manager works with Senior Management in meeting facility goals.

Qualifications

  • ADN or ARRT( R)

  • BSN preferred

  • 3-year management experience to include management of personnel, payroll, budget, capital, business planning, marketing, physician relations and management of supervisory positions

  • Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS.

  • Current Texas RN or RT licensure required

  • Clinical skills related to diagnostic and interventional cardiology.

  • Analytical skills related to fiscal requirements and strategic operations.

  • Intermediate skill level with word, excel and power point.

  • Skills related to short, intermediate and long-term goals and objectives for Cath lab.

Job Purpose: This position is responsible for supervising staff involved in a variety of medical management operations.. Responsible for hiring, training, performance reviews, pay administration, change management and ensuring staff meet/exceeds goals and initiatives. Required Job Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree OR clinical licensure (RN, LISW, LMSW, LPC, RD, etc.) with unrestricted, current clinical license in the state of operations. * 3 years of experience in one or more of these fields: managed care operations, case management, customer quality of care in clinical settings, public or government health sponsored programs) * Leadership experience and skills. * Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures. * Knowledge of accrediting body requirements (i.e. NCQA, EQRO). * Verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills * Analytical skills and sound judgment. * PC proficiency to include Microsoft suite of applications. * Ability and willingness to travel including overnight stays. Preferred Job Qualifications: * 2+ years of clinical supervisory/management experience. * Experience in program development and driving results of managed care or related program(s). * Utilization Review (UR) / Utilization Management (UM) experience. * Knowledge of Milliman Guidelines or similar clinical guidelines. * Recent experience either telephonic or in person clinical support working with patients with chronic illnesses, including Diabetes, CAD, hypertension, CHF, COPD. * Experience with Motivational Interviewing or other behavior change communication techniques. * Certification in Case Management, Training, Project Management or nationally recognized health care certification. * Experience working on a Dedicated Unit supporting a specific client account or for a Custom Model or prior Account Management experience. * Prior experience working in an innovative, collaborative and open office environment is a plus.
