Georgia-Pacific (GP) is seeking a Manager of Analysis to join the Platform Analytics Team for the Corrugated division.

Location: If you are a candidate in the larger regional area that can visit the supported facilities (below) or someone who is willing to relocate to the supported area - we want to hear from you!

This is a hybrid role of remote work and day trips with occasional overnight travel to the sites noted below. During onboarding, it will be critical to meet and establish relationships with our operations teams; from there you will have the flexibility to schedule your travel to meet priority business demands.

Our Team: The GP Financial Planning & Analysis team provides support to 125+ operating locations across the US, as well as at our corporate HQ in Atlanta, GA.

The Corrugated Platform Analytics Team focuses on supporting our manufacturing locations with reporting, forecasting, variance analysis and identifying cost savings opportunities. We are supported by our fiduciary partners as well as other Centers Of Excellence for Inventory, Internal Financial Controls, and Capital.

In this individual contributor role as a site supporting Manager of Analysis, you will report to the supervising Manager of Analysis for the division.

The Georgia-Pacific Containerboard business includes five world class facilities that make GP the largest supplier of containerboard to the independent box market. We offer a variety of grades of performance linerboard and corrugating medium, as well as white top linerboard products.

Our containerboard is sustainably produced in the U.S. at one of our five strategically located mills. Our products are manufactured using recycled and virgin fiber, and our mills have chain of custody and fiber sourcing certifications from recognized third-party groups, including the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

What You Will Do

As a valued business partner, you will collaborate, lead and advise; providing financial and analytical support for the facility, and will assist the business with the financial reporting and consolidation process. You will also create value by providing actionable manufacturing analysis, cost analysis and benchmark reporting, as well as project tracking for management.

Being able to understand and manipulate data sources and communicate results, trends and variances to internal customers will be keys to success in this role. An advanced level of proficiency with data analytic and visualization tools (i.e. Excel, Power BI, Tableau) will put you ahead.

The ideal candidate will also possess a high degree of flexibility, creativity, and resourcefulness. Manufacturing experience is a big plus!

  • Commercial & Manufacturing Analysis: KPI analysis, cost analysis, benchmark reporting, and bet tracking to highlight opportunities and effectively communicate action items to business leadership

  • Effectively partner across capabilities to deliver insights on customer demand and market pricing impacts

  • Manufacturing analysis will focus on direct costs, production, and indirect costs at the mill level. Effectively gathering data sources to highlight opportunities, trends, variances

  • Month end financial reporting, consolidation of reporting and analysis, variance analysis

  • Ownership of planning and forecasting activities in support of multiple facilities

  • Provide transparent economic evaluations and analytical support, based in economic reality, to decision owners on business proposals for capital investment, major expenses, strategic initiatives, ad hoc operations projects, etc.

  • Collaborate with Plant Leadership to identify opportunities; develop and prioritize strategies that drive value creation and advance the current state

  • Proactively build mutually beneficial relationships with others, to better understand and utilize the resources available to the business

  • Advance the Principle-Based Management (PBM) culture by applying and reinforcing the company's Values

  • Ability to travel when needed (will range from 10% to 25% depending on geographic location and timing of need; may include overnight stays)

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Career experience in a financial analysis, accounting, cost accounting, operations finance, or related role(s) that demonstrates understanding and application of financial concepts, economic principles, marginal analysis, variance analysis, IRR, ROI, and other valuation metrics

  • Confident Communicator: You have experience presenting complex financial concepts to various audiences and you engage effectively with your stakeholders in multiple formats

  • Collaboration/Contribution Mindset: You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team; you seek to close gaps and solve problems

  • Systems and Tools savvy: You have experience sourcing large volumes of data from multiple systems, performing analysis, developing a point of view, and presenting to other

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business

  • Experience using MS Excel for statistical modeling, forecasting, graphs, charts, pivots and macros

  • Experience creating dashboards and KPI's using various analysis/data visualization tools

  • Experience in the Manufacturing sector
