Job Title: Manager of Almost Home After School Program

Hours: M-F, 10:30am to 6:30pm

Summary:
The Manager of Almost Home oversees and manages safe, caring, engaging and professionally supervised after-school enrichment program, offering age-appropriate activities in an educational, recreational and social setting.

Essential Functions:

Essential functions include but are not limited to the following that are listed below.

  • Hiring and supervising staff, including coordination of all licensing materials and procedures, as well as maintenance of required records

  • Managing participant registrations including, without limitation, review and evaluation of health forms and immunization records

  • Budget accountability

  • Planning, developing, overseeing and/or participating in educational and/or play activities with children (including, without limitation, special events such as holiday or end-of-year celebrations for program participants)

  • Performing routine safety checks and ensuring a safe program environment at all times

  • Planning and ensuring delivery of staff training

  • Fostering communication between schools, the community and the JCC

  • Regular, as well as ad-hoc, communication with caregivers of program participants

  • Regular, as well as ad-hoc, communication with program staff

  • Providing referrals for support services to parents, as needed

  • Other duties, as may be assigned

  • Punctuality and reliability

  • Ability and willingness to pass a pre-employment background check

  • Upon acceptance of employment, ability and willingness to undergo and pass all background and other checks required under law, such as OCFS, SEL, SCR checks, TB screen, etc.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Elementary or Pre-school Education and/or 5+ years of experience in a related field.

Responsibilities RESPONSIBILITES Carries out the agency's mission, philosophy, goals and objectives within guidelines of Agency policy and position function. Interprets and implements the Agency's philosophy to staff and members of the community. Participates in the development and implementation of a realistic goal-oriented plan of care. Provides personal care and rehabilitative services and assists in activities of daily living as directed by the Director of Clinical Services or the supervising Registered Nurse. Follows care plan instructions as directed by Registered Nurse. Provides Nutritional Support:Develops menuPrepares grocery list, shops as requiredPrepares meals and snacksAssists with feeding as neededMeasures and records intake of food and fluids Modified and Complex Modified diets require specific instruction by the Nurse. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS: * Physical activity including but not limited to walking, standing, running, twisting, stooping, kneeling, climbing ladders or stairs, crouching, lifting, balancing, reaching, and crawling is required. * Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. * May be required to lift, pull, push, bend, drag and squat for periods of time. * HHA will be exposed to virus, disease and infection from patients and specimens in working environment. * HHA will be required to work at client's home or a specified facility and be responsible for own transportation. * Flexibility is required in that scheduling needs may on include last minute changes, rotating shifts, standby, and fill in work.
