This position is responsible for leading the day to day operations of the Accounting Support Services team, in a centralized accounting environment for a global, diversified organization. It includes oversight of global account reconciliations and analyses, journal entries, and intercompany transactions, and provides support for financial and other strategic initiatives. This position is responsible for leading a team that supports the global production of major segments of the organization's periodic financial reports. The position will be located at the Hearst Service Center business office in Charlotte, NC.
Lead day to day accounting functions and supervise accounting staff
Support global production of major segments of monthly and annual financial books, including related analysis and reconciliations; liaise with individual unit financial owners.
Oversees accounting procedures and systems
Monitor month end close
Review and approve monthly journal entries and intercompany transactions
Review and approve account reconciliations
Support global financial statement reporting, including variance analysis
Assist with preparation of selected year-end close schedules.
Provide assistance for audit procedures
Support a variety of special projects and initiatives.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
Mature leader with 5+ years of accounting/finance experience required
CPA a plus, but not required
Excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail
Ability to meet assigned deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
Highly organized, strong ability to multi-task and prioritize
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (macros, pivot tables, lookup functions)
Experience with accounting software applications including Oracle Cloud ERP, and ARCS balance sheet reconciliation tool a plus
Ability to act and operate independently, with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish directives
