The Manager, NYC Enrollment is responsible for managing the enrollment systems and supporting student recruitment and enrollment efforts in the NYC region. The Manager of NYC Enrollment will oversee a team of 2 Enrollment Coordinators and 2 temp staff to ensure timely outreach is made to prospective families and ensure that the NYC Enrollment team is on track to meet their enrollment targets. The Manager, NYC Enrollment also manages Salesforce and SchoolMint systems, ensures compliance with enrollment documentation, and facilitates training and support to the school operations team. This role will also collaborate with the Sr. Manager of Enrollments to support the development of a strategic vision and plan for student recruitment. This includes monitoring progress and making data-driven decisions to optimize lead generation and conversion.

Oversee and manage the enrollment systems and team that is responsible for executing lead and enrollment strategies.

  • Responsible for the Enrollment Coordinators who will maintain a 30% conversion of all leads (digital, organic, and on the ground).

  • Responsible for creating and overseeing systems to manage the NYC Enrollment email inbox and phone line - ensuring that all emails and calls are followed up within 24 hours.

  • Responsible for the creation of all resources related to NYC ENR communication - including compliance toward cross-regional Ideal Family Journey non-negotiables.

Own and progress monitor the following workstreams related to engagement strategy for student enrollment lead conversion in the NYC region:

  • Salesforce and SchoolMint: Develop subject matter expertise in Salesforce and SchoolMint to support and troubleshoot on behalf of school operations teams and the regional enrollment team. Prepare and execute professional development training for school-based leaders (DOOs) and Ops Teams to maximize knowledge and competence for school-based stakeholders.

  • New Student Offers: Responsible for managing all new student offers for schools during the peak conversion season of April through September. Utilizing target and budget information for schools to determine the correct number of offers to make. Maximize WL and offers from schools that are have met their offer/enrollment targets to make #2 offers to schools.

  • Data Reporting: Responsible for developing user-friendly reports for regional and school teams to progress monitor enrollment actions for pre-lottery engagement, conversion, and day 1 readiness. The reports must provide actionable data and accurately measure progress towards enrollment goals using Salesforce and SchoolMint Data.

  • Lead Generation: Work directly with the Regional External Affairs team, Enrollment team, School Operations team and external partners to manage a lead generation and conversion strategy that maximizes our digital ads and referral campaigns. Review data from lead and application generation/conversion, family referrals, and local community outreach efforts to identify trends, support with making data-driven decisions and to help identify gaps in the enrollment plan.

  • CBO Outreach & Strategy: Support the regional enrollment team with CBO outreach through coaching, training, and shadowing Associate Managers when needed. Own the development of the NYC community-based organization outreach strategy for Brooklyn and manage the ENR team to meet non-negotiables related to CBO engagement and relationship building.

  • Professional Development: Create a PD calendar for the regional enrollment team. Train Operations team members: Create tools, systems, documentation, and training materials to support enrollment processes and ensure consistent implementation across schools.

Team management:

  • Manage two Enrollment Coordinators

  • Manage two temp staff members to support during peak lead generation season

  • Support with the onboarding, training, and offboarding of any regional enrollment staff

  • Approve timesheets for regional enrollment team members

  • Manage all enrollment team invoices and expenses related to events, engagements, and other opportunities.

  • Manage 25% of the NYC Enrollment Cost Center budget as it relates to events and engagements for the Enrollment Team.

  • Support the creation of NYC Enrollment Team OKRs for the year as well as setup systems for progress monitoring OKR metric results and progress toward KPIs.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree

Experience Requirements:

  • 5-6 years of professional experience

  • 4 years of people management

  • 4 years in student recruitment/enrollment management

  • 3 years of Community Engagement and Outreach

  • 3 years working with school communities

  • Outlook, Excel, Google Drive, SchoolMint, and Salesforce preferred

Travel/ Schedule:

  • Will work in person in our NYC regional office in Brooklyn 8 am to 5 pm with the possibility of having 1 day remote. Some evenings and weekends to service our families and or events.

  • Local travel between schools and community-based organizations and events within Brooklyn and NYC.

Compensation for this position: Candidates who meet all job description requirements will likely receive an offer of $90,000. The starting compensation for this role is between $85,000 to $100,000. The starting pay will depend on various factors including but not limited to relevant professional experience, education, certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools. To receive an offer at the top of the range, candidates will need significant experience beyond the job description requirements. Because we value staff tenure in a role, we do not currently cap salary ranges for current staff members.
