Embodying member advocacy and results orientation, coordinates and directs all activities of the Loan Closing and Post-Closing department. Essential Functions
- Leadership, Oversight and Development
- Responsible for the management and oversight of mortgage closing and post-closing loan production, lending compliance, quality assurance, and adherence to policies and procedures.
- Daily problem solving to include teaching staff where to find the answers.
- Stays current on guidelines, industry standards, laws, regulations and compliance.
- Maintains and builds positive relationships with key vendors and other internal and external partners including the lending management team.
- Onboarding and training of closers and post-closers.
- Ongoing training and support of mortgage closing and post-closing staff. Including: continuous process management and improvement, working with Underwriting and QC to discover trends and opportunities for training.
Pipeline Management
- Manages the pipeline daily to ensure closing documents are issued to the title company by the desired SLA. This includes monitoring milestone turn times through the process.
- Holds team accountable for effectively supporting the loan officer team, title companies, and realtor partners ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and within the expected service levels.
- Manages the distribution and balance of the workload including reassignments amongst the teams to provide a consistent member experience.
- Ensure future salability and quality control of residential mortgage loans and refinances by adhering to all lender underwriting guidelines and federal and state regulation
- Works with Mortgage Operations Manager to establish team and individual goals.

- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.
- Complete required regulatory Training as assigned.
- Maintain strict adherence and compliance to all laws, rules, regulations and internal controls specific to your role, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and Fair Lending regulations.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert to support decision-making with regards to closing and post-closing.
- Work closely with closers, title representatives, and investors to efficiently identify and resolve any closing or post-closing issues.
- Familiarity with current mortgage lending laws and regulations, understanding of documentation relating to residential real estate lending and conventional financing, and/or familiarity with credit union philosophies and practices preferred.
- Knowledgeable of all aspects of the federal and state regulations dealing with Mortgage and Home Equity lending.
- Familiar with mortgage lending file organization and the related documentation associated with mortgage files.
- Well-developed ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Basic knowledge of the mortgage process, documentation, requirements; governmental and agency requirements; and terminology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Superior customer service skills are essential.

Experience
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three (3) years mortgage closing management experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of mortgage closing experience.
- Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to the mortgage industry (i.e., RESPA, TILA, ECOA, etc.).
- Ability to close FHA/VA/USDA and Conventional loans according to required guidelines.
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience in both closing and post-closing preferred.
- Independent Mortgage Banking Experience preferred.
- Notary Public preferred.
- Encompass experience preferred
