Leadership & People Development

  • Develop and grow team members, be a role model for Smucker Culture, create a sense of family and genuine care within the team and Information Services function, focus on work life balance, inspire resonance

  • Develop a clear vision for the function and contribute to the strategy of the Information Services organization as a whole

  • Lead and Manage a team of professionals who are responsible for all facets of Middleware and Database architectures (primary includes Oracle, Microsoft and open source database technologies, Oracle, Microsoft, and Tibco middleware technologies, Backup & Recovery, Data Replication, Platform As A Server (PAAS), Infrastructure As A Service (IAAS), Automation, and Hybrid Cloud architectures)

  • Exerts influence as an advisor to mid and upper level leaders and strategic external partners

  • Exerts influence as an advisor to Information Services department

  • Foster an environment that reinforces personal accountability

Business Results

  • Support project capacity and forecast requirements for company portfolio

  • Support high availability architectures and operational stability

  • Provide cost center budget management support

  • Exhibits an action orientation and a continuous improvement mindset

  • Manage software assets, support/maintenance & corresponding service lives

  • Collaborate with Information Services team members to create and manage high availability architectures.

  • Anticipate changes in technology landscape, define implications to Information Services (e.g., cloud computing, self-service, collaboration, decentralized workforce, etc.) and address resolution actions as necessary

  • Accelerate the deployment of technology solutions across the company

Security & Risk Management

  • Exerts influence as an advisor to Information Security and Risk Management

  • Advocate for Information Security and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance of Information Security and Risk Management within Infrastructure and Support Services function

  • Assists in defining new standards and policies; ensures these are followed with Infrastructure and Support Services function



  • Bachelor's Degree in related field is preferred or equivalent work experience


  • 5+ years proven IT leadership experience (Good with people, focus on Resident Leadership, makes tough decisions, responsible for the whole, acts with a sense of urgency, shapes new outcomes, thinks strategically, adept at removing barriers, inspirational, compassion, hope, constructive challenger, sets a high standard and leads others by example)

  • 7+ years of relevant technical and business work experience required (Prefer Middleware & Database technologies, Integration and ETL technologies, Automation, Cloud)

  • Experience in facilitation and/or project management

  • Experience in handling ambiguity, complexity and is adaptable to change

  • Experience influencing others
