The Manager, Medicare Special Needs Plan (SNP) Sales works closely with SNP Sales Representatives to increase membership growth by reaching and exceeding sales objectives set by the annual membership budget for SNP. This position is responsible for ensuring all sales activities are conducted effectively and in compliance with UPMC and CMS policies The Manager sets individual enrollment targets, sales/enrollment territory, and directs all sales activities for each sale representative. The Manager monitors sales results on a daily basis to analyze progress and evaluate alternative strategies that support meeting enrollment objectives.

This position promotes UPMC Medicare SNP products and services to both internal and external customers attending events, conferences, and other community activities to generate sales leads to be distributed to the sales team. The Manager instructs staff on sales tactics, specific selling skills, product knowledge and strategic focus in order to ensure enrollment targets are met. The Manager develops and implement grass roots community engagement strategies that includes all social service organizations that support targeted population. This position will Assist in the development of marketing materials, strategy, and tactics specific to the SEPA Region. The Manager exhibits the highest level of professionalism, integrity, customer service, and dutifully represents UPMC Health Plan.


  • Analyze current incentive plans and make recommendations that support and advance the strategic sales plan.

  • Conduct regular training sessions on compliance issues, new regulations, revised guidelines, and operational changes as needed.

  • Conduct routine training for new sales staff and new departmental hires.

  • Employ a targeted sales strategy to identify the best locations of targeted population to maximize exposure and enrollment of UPMC Medicare SNP products.

  • Identify additional training needs based on regular performance evaluations.

  • Maintain the appropriate use of established resources in line with budget allocations to carryout planned initiatives, which will assure reaching enrollment growth targets.

  • Oversee and manage outbound call activity to ensure outbound call volumes are maintained.

  • Oversee telemarketing goals conducted as follow-up on leads received including those received from direct mail campaign and assess the needs of the client, qualify, schedule appointments, send benefit information and enroll.

  • Plan and assign staff participation in community activities, and events such as health fairs, business fairs, and special events, in order to distribute literature, delver presentations and collecting information for follow-up and enrollments.

  • Provide staff ongoing training on product features, benefits, and selling skills.

  • Uncover procedural and operational opportunities to increase the individual performance of staff, resulting in improved enrollment, while using limited financial resources.


  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or Social Work.

  • Insurance background, excellent presentation, communication and computer skills required.

  • Experience in insurance sales and Managed Care is greatly desired, but not required.

  • Five years of sales or related experience with at least two (2) year of supervisory experience, leadership, or management experience required.

  • Well versed in contemporary marketing strategies conducive to working with diverse ethnic groups, seniors, and people with disabilities.

  • Ability to work independently, travel extensively, and prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Previous experience with strategic planning, brand development, and community outreach is preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage key community stakeholders for partnerships that facilitates enrollment opportunities.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

PA Health and Accident License required within 90 days of hire.

Your efforts as a Regional Account Manager will be vital in helping us achieve our vision of "leveling the playing field" between physically unchallenged people and all people who find themselves challenged due to limb loss or limb dysfunction. THE POSITION: As a Regional Account Manager, you will be working from your home as a base and reporting to our Sales Manager. You will be responsible for contributing to sales growth in our U.S. East Region consisting of the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. This is a collaborative effort with domestic distributors meant to establish trusted relationships and meet strategic goals. The position will be the lead point of contact for customers in the assigned region and support the marketing team in addressing questions/concerns in the field. Position Expectations: Keep up to date on all WillowWood product offerings to effectively provide product demonstrations, train distributors, and offer technical support. * Utilize sales tracings data to identify opportunities for growth and accounts that may require attention in regional territory. * Extensive travel up to an average of 80% * Record all customer visits and pertinent correspondence in CRM. * In conjunction with supervisor, establish and successfully complete customer visit goals, and sales goals. * Perform administrative duties as required. This will include making travel arrangements, keeping calendar up to date, completing expense reports and inputting pertinent information into CRM. * Establish a trusted advisor relationship with Prosthetic Facilities. * Schedule and meet with Prosthetic facilities to educate personnel on WillowWood product and service offerings. * Determine customer pain points and propose solutions to fulfill their needs. * Follow-up on customer/distributor rep requests and assist in resolving customer complaints. * Travel with distributor sales personnel in assigned region to educate them on WillowWood product and service offering. * Attend state, regional and national trade shows representing company and in support of distributors. This could include set-up and tear down of booth. * Conduct product training and education workshops * Assist in rollout and training of new products and services. * Serve as the communication link between customers and internal staff, offering suggestions to help the success of a product or the marketing of a product. * Support Education team with workshops at customer sites in assigned region. * Conduct WebEx training sessions on WillowWood products and services. * Maintain follow up records in CRM from customer and distributor visits/correspondence within two weeks after visit. * Provide quarterly reports to supervisor outlining competition updates learned from Sales Visits.
