Under the direction of the MHS Executive Director, Lean& Materials, this position's primary responsibility is to manage andsupport all Material Management activities for inventory planning, receivingand distribution of supplies needed to support operations at MemorialCareMedical Foundation (MCMF) sites and associated entities. Provides leadership and direction inestablishing operational goals and objectives for functions listed above insupport of MemorialCare strategic plan, system Material Resources and campusobjectives. Coordinates MCMF site Materialinventories and oversees receiving, distribution and mail/postage functionswithin areas of responsibility. Servesas lead coordinator for materials management of supplies and supporting servicevendor needs of new MCMF site launches. Continually assesses and improves performanceof areas under his/her direction. Servesas part of MHS Material Resources leadership team and effectively collaborateswith Purchasing, Contracting and Hospital Materials Management functions of the

MemorialCare Supply Chain and MCMF Pharmacy pursuing greatest possible system synergies. Position is also responsible for thesupervision and management of the MHS on-site Mailroom delivery & receivingfunctions.

PrincipalDuties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides direction and leadership for management of inventoryplanning, set up and receiving at all MCMF sites; rapidly and efficientlyresponds with organized supply chain support in a growing and changingenvironment.

  • Effectively serves as a member of the system-level MaterialResources leadership team.

  • Responsible for maintenance and implementation of systemlevel Material Resources policies and procedures that pertain to MCMFoperations inventory management and receiving functions and campus site vendormanagement.

  • Accountable for operational and financial management ofbudgets and of inventory from receipt to issue for controls necessary to maintainaccurate reporting, accountability, and plan for improvement including annualinventory audit.

  • Accountable for the development of a competent andeffective MCMF Materials Management team.

  • Provides leadership and direction for Lean improvementstrategy, events and sustainment support.

  • Manages all MHS & MCMF mail/postage requirements,budgets and staff.


  • 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in healthcarematerials and/or healthcare Lean management

  • Additional certification in healthcare materialsmanagement or Lean preferred

  • Superior technical, interpersonal, communication andconsensus-building skills; consistently flexible and constructive attitude

  • Demonstrated customer service orientation withsensitivity to campus site customer needs

  • Excellent communication skills with all types of mediaand all levels of leadership and employees; MMIS, data analysis expertise

  • Excellent teaching, coaching and mentoring skills withdemonstrated track record

  • Demonstrated 5S and Lean management system implementationleadership and experience

  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise for Federal, Stateand other regulatory accreditation standards as they relate to site Materials Management functions


Bachelor'sdegree with significant qualifications and experience relating to healthcareindustry supply chain management
