We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager of Material Projects. The selected candidate will lead the team that manages Procurement and Supply Chain efforts in order to maintain schedule requirements for all Internal Customers. Additionally, they will act as the primary representative for Procurement to all customers such as Program, Production Control, and Manufacturing relative to Buy parts delivery status as well as ensure all programs are receiving support and status from the Procurement and Supply Chain function.


  • Accountable for Material Strategies for Captures efforts and Material Plans for Programs Supports all leadership reviews including Monthly Reviews, Customer reviews, and Program reviews.

  • Coordinates cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance, and others to develop solutions for project challenges.

  • Participates in the development of policies and procedures and develops and monitors supplier activities and performance metrics to ensure Company processes, procedures and standards are in compliance.

  • Recommends changes/updates in policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company processes, procedures and standards and applicable regulations.

  • Represents the company as a primary contact and maintains professional relationship internal business groups

  • Facilitates/coordinates presentation of program status on all subcontracts and purchasing activities, projects, issues, etc.

  • Identifies and helps mitigate the schedule risk of any part shortages that are/will impact Production or other customer requirements.

  • Works closely with Production Control/Manufacturing/Program customers to status any identified non-supporting schedule items.

  • Works closely with Procurement to help prioritize PO placement, delivery schedules and associated changes (pull-ins) as needed to support customer needs.

  • Works closely with Procurement and/or Supplier Management Team (SMT) personnel to expedite deliveries as needed.

  • Assists Program customers in identifying any high risk and/or long lead time parts.

  • Develops and maintains metrics as required.

  • Leads and/or participates in cross functional projects related to material Lead-Times.

  • Participates in proposal kickoff meetings or proposal strategy sessions

  • Provides direction and training to professional, technical or staff on Procurement and Supply Chain related matters and makes presentations as required.

  • Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelors in Business Administration or related discipline and thirteen or more years of progressively complex experience in the project administration field with at least seven of those years in project management. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.

  • Prior management experience in same or similar field (e.g. Material Program Management)

  • Requires the ability to understand the procurement process in a DOD environment.

  • Requires the ability to understand and adhere to all laws pertaining to procurement, contracts, breach by contract, etc.

  • Requires the ability to understand the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Scheduling processes.

  • Requires strong interpersonal and management skills.

  • Requires strong database (MS Excel) skills.

Requires a strong technical understanding of the product development process, specifically Packaging Design and Process Development, Packaging Verification & Validation activities, Medical Device Sterilization methodologies and Clinical testing. The Senior Technical Project Manager is expected to be able to run project integration activities for a functional group with limited supervision and large projects with moderate guidance/coaching. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Develop, track and report on project plan, detailed project schedule and Gantt, change control requests, and project deliverables. * Work with Program Manager to budget time, priorities, and run and update the technical schedules. Identify and resolve issues to schedule, resources, scope, and risk assessment. * Under direction of Program Manager or Functional Manager, coordinate activities/tasks and resources across engineering departments or within a specific department * Estimate and coordinate material forecasts from various cross-functional departments * Assess and manage material lead times, part availability, design release readiness * Coordinate R&D build schedules with Pilot or Production Operations * Ability and confidence to run project status reviews and other key team meetings. * Communicate project status to management and cross-functional teams. * Other duties may be assigned as required Required Qualifications: * Active knowledge of the product development process. Knowledge of medical device design control requirements is preferred. Working knowledge of GMP's and ISO standards is highly preferred. * Active knowledge of Agile methodologies, resource estimation and planning. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Visio is required. * Program Management certification, i.e. PMP or equivalent, is preferred. * Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical and business information clearly and effectively through informal and formal documents, reports, and presentations to management. * Strong attention to detail, and proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. * High EQ and adaptability to different working styles. * Proven ability to manage conflict and work under tight deadlines; strong "can do" attitude and infectious work ethic.
