Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervises employees who use a variety of equipment such as forklifts, conveyers, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished products or goods within a plant, office, or warehouse. Oversees the processing, packaging, and storage of supplies, materials, and equipment.

May assist in selecting appropriate containers and wrapping methods for materials to be shipped or stored. Coordinates with engineers, shippers, carton manufacturers, and carpenters for special crating and packing requirements. Supervises employees who maintain records and check invoices/bills of lading.

  • Plans, schedules and manages the efficient movement of material from receiving and/or the warehouse to production. Supports the fulfillment of material and scheduling requirements.

  • Provide direction to all subordinates using established policies and precedents and ensure subordinate work is reviewed for adequacy in meeting cost and quality objectives.

  • Manage effort to consolidate part delivery data sets for use in ensuring parts are received, stored, retrieved, kitted and delivered to MFG.

  • Knowledge of Commercial shipping practices including small parcel and freight and experience with various Transportation systems such as FedEx and UPS.

  • Knowledge/Certification in DOT and IATA regulations, Hazmat certified.

  • Coordinate interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; to expedite the movement of parts and tooling by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.

  • May perform ongoing operational tasks of organizational groups or be assigned to teams working on sector level tasks, projects or process changes/improvements.

  • Frequent contacts with internal personnel and outside customer representatives at various management levels concerning operations or scheduling or parts management issues specific to the build of the product lines.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS + 5 years of exp: MS + 3 years of exp; PhD + 0 years of exp or

additional years in lieu of a degree considered.

  • Must oversee the material control and logistics operations while supporting multiple program requirements.

  • Must be a US citizen

  • Active Secret Clearance

Salary Range: $90,000.00 - $136,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.

Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
