About this job:
Leads school marketing team and the corresponding body of work, including managing the specialist program, the development and implementation of comprehensive strategic marketing plans for designated high-priority schools as well as ongoing communications support for all district-run schools. Supports the Director with districtwide marketing initiatives and marketing efforts on behalf of departments, policy initiatives or large district projects, and other priorities of the Superintendent. Works collaboratively with school leaders, department leaders, and the Director to analyze needs, determine goals, and recommend outcomes for strategic marketing plans. Oversees the strategic planning and tactical implementation of these plans, including the research and discovery process, development of plans and timelines, budget management, and tactical deliverables.

What You'll Do:
Prioritizes schools for varying levels of marketing and communications support in collaboration with District leadership, leads the School Communications Specialist program and the development of marketing communications plans, determines appropriate resources to support objectives, and oversees the implementation of plans.
Provide comprehensive communications support to schools and district departments to support external and internal communications objectives, including professional consultation related to branding, marketing collateral, student recruitment and retention strategies, web communications, social media, media relations, internal communications, event-based marketing, direct mail, crisis communication and stakeholder engagement.
Determines school marketing priorities, oversees project development, and provides guidance on visual aesthetics, messaging, content and deliverables.
Collaborates with other Marketing and Communications teams (e.g., videographer, photographer, external vendors) to ensure consistency in messaging and visual branding and to ensure deliverables are distributed equitably and in preferred languages for families and community members.
Manages the School Marketing Team budget, and supports the overall marketing budget, including vendor coordination and payments, invoice management, and school billing in collaboration with a financial specialist.
Acts as the main point of contact and project manager for client accounts and manages timeline, resources, budget and completion for multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining keen attention to detail.
Supports schools and departments with templates, tactical timelines, consultations, connections to vendors and strategic advising; hosts training to empower marketing autonomy at the school and department level.
Supports communications team with marketing activities for the SchoolChoice process, outreach related to district goals, district-wide publications and events, internal communications campaigns, and other initiatives.
What Youll Need:
High school diploma/GED is required.
Bachelors Degree preferred, preferably in marketing, communications, public relations or related field.
Five (5) to seven (7) years of comprehensive experience in strategic communications, marketing, media relations and/or internal communications.
Two (2) or more years of experience with website content management systems and social media applications.
Two (2) or more years of experience with budget management.
Two (2) or more years of management responsibilities.
Strong organizational and analytic skills and strong attention to detail
Self-starter/leader who can anticipate department needs in a proactive (versus, reactive) manner
Ability to develop and interpret data and manage resources
Ability to motivate and influence others
Ability to effectively lead a team
Demonstrated proficiency with Google Workspace products.
Ability to multi-task and juggle management of several high-priority projects in parallel
High degree of integrity in handling confidential information
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to lead a high-performing team
