Primary Purpose of Position:
Responsible for bringing Ball's aluminum cups business to consumers, building on Ball's reputation, in a memorable way that associates this product with a positive experience. This will include creating an activation strategy, managing the integrated planning process, and managing the consumer promotions efforts. This role will work collaboratively to develop the strategy and then lead the execution and measurement of integrated marketing programs, including budget management and ROI.
Recommends clear objectives for brand communication, creates a vision for short and long-term success, and develops an activation strategy and plan encompassing customer development, packaging, communications, and media. Optimizes plans using market research and analytics
Activates brand activities, such as consumer promotion materials, public relations materials, email, social media, etc., in collaboration and alignment with Ball's brand and identity
Manages artworks and execution
Helps with customer decks
Leads up trade shows
Ensures marketing communications and marketing adaptations are on-strategy and consistent.
Turns brand communication campaigns into retailer-specific marketing plans
Establishes methodology to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of promotional activities and programs
Oversees campaign / project timelines, deliverables and approval
Helps arrange, coordinate and maintain top-level contact with strategic vendor agencies. Develops strategies to stay close to our customers' marketing and product innovation personnel
Work with customers on trade activation and PR programs
Provides and/or presents marketing and innovation presentations to customers. Strongly influences new brand development and roll out, and provides input to strategic planning activities, providing insights into the markets in which we compete and the marketing opportunities for our products
Act as liaison while developing strong relationships with strategic vendor partners and agencies, in support of business objectives.
Stay informed of functional best practices while extending these practices into Ball's day-to-day business processes
Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college degree level education or work-related experience.
Job related experience for 7 year(s) minimum in roles spanning consumer/customer research and marketing.
Advanced knowledge of Foodservice, Entertainment, and Retail market segments i.e. segmentation dynamics, key players, distribution systems, decision making processes, supporting vendors, available datasets, and "hands-on" knowledge of leading support software applications
Digital/social experience a plus
Demonstrated ability to translate marketing objectives into strategies and plans. Proven success in executing a comprehensive marketing plan that is integrated across multiple consumer touch points, including at point-of-purchase
Helpful to have "hands-on" experience launching new products particularly in the consumer goods space and in .com and big box retail environments from opportunity identification to concept development to activation and distribution building
Thorough understanding of the marketing planning and activation process
Ability to create compelling, fact-based sales collateral
Articulate ability to speak publicly and engage groups both small and large as functional "expert", especially in direct customer engagements
Comfortable presenting and interacting with senior and C-suite executives
