POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager, Marketing Research is responsible for leading a variety of marketing research activities that support multiple functions across the company. This individual will report to the Dir, Marketing Research and manage external research consultants and lead vendors to deliver against a highly strategic set of marketing research objectives.

The position will work proactively across the organization to identify, champion and act on research and information needs. This position involves extensive research design, primary and secondary research reporting, and research project management.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Efficiently and effectively manage appropriate partnerships, vendors, contractors, consultants, etc.

  • Keep abreast and report on key industry and product trends.

  • Support various teams across Charter by providing overviews of the competitive environment.

  • Manage Charter customer research panel, including replenishment, survey programming and analysis of results.

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams on a variety of research projects.

  • Manage multiple primary research projects, including advertising testing, product usability, and satisfaction and brand health trackers.

  • Create a bi-weekly research newsletter that delivers key industry and consumer observations to a variety of internal clients.

  • Create and maintain a dashboard of leading customer attitudinal performance indicators.

  • Support budgeting and daily expense management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by

  • written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner

  • Experience working with qualitative and quantitative research methodologies

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to make recommendations based on analysis and expertise

  • Ability to identify research necessary to address a multitude of business needs

  • Experience interpreting and summarizing secondary data (e.g. Forrester, Mintel, etc.)

  • Resourceful, proactive, detail-oriented and able to thrive in fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects at once

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality (and honor all Charter customer privacy requirements)

  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively

  • Ability to show judgment and initiative and to accomplish job duties

  • Ability to work independently and make recommendations and decisions autonomously

  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint; proficient in other desktop applications

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time and handle shifting priorities

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Research, Marketing, Business, Management or related field

Related Work Experience

  • Project management experience; 3+ years

  • Marketing Research experience; 5+ years

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

  • Experience with Vision Critical panel platform

  • Outstanding ability to communicate orally and in writing with a clear and straightforward manner

  • Ability to manage the complete research process, including outside agencies, partners, consultants and vendors

  • Knowledge of all major research methodologies, leading companies, associations, publications, industry trends and innovations

  • Knowledge of Compere media, Kantar, Forrester and SNL platforms

  • Knowledge of cable television, internet, media and telephony products and services

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Office environment, light to moderate travel required (10-20%)
