Position Summary:
Coordination and oversight of marine operations for CMA CGM vessels on West Coast
Responsible for leadership of Assistant Marine Manager based in Houston
Coordinate vessel related issues on VSA partner vessels
Point person on any marine related issues on West Coast
Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
Distribute and maintain coastal schedules
Coordinate vessel labor orders with terminals on all CMA CGM vessels
Coordinate with NLI on the orders for tugs, pilots, linesmen and berth assignment
Liaise with HO on stowage with terminal operators
Provide daily reports on productivity
Prepare export load lists for terminals, vessel partners and HO
Provide training to all marine personnel regardless of location
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Understanding of vessel operations in specific terminal locations
Working knowledge of stowage and terminal operations
General knowledge of union contracts pertaining to vessel operations
Ability to communicate clear and concise directions that are vessel related
Understand and use the software that CMA CGM utilizes in the marine operations department
Read and understand the contractual obligations that are specific to each terminal contract
Ability to work under time constraints to ensure that vessels are dispatched within the guidelines set by HO
Balance volume allocation versus weight allocation to ensure that the vessels are at maximum capacity
Attend meetings with terminal operators on productivity related issues
Provide HO with vessel stats and finalized baplie files
Receive and finalize partners load list and ensure that partners do not exceed known allocation
Coordinate with NCB on OOG reports
Coordinate with NCB on BB moves
Approve invoices that are vessel related per service string
Update stats weekly
Review and comment on the monthly cost reports
Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
3+ year of general and industry experience required.
Prior experience as vessel operator or graduate of a marine related university
HAZMAT license/certification required.
Master's license, Port Executive program preferred.
