Manager, MAKE and Operational Excellence

This position reports to Senior Manager Make Excellence and is based at Skillman, NJ. (Kenvue's corporate headquarters is currently located in Skillman NJ, but is scheduled to move to Summit, NJ in or around early 2025.)

Role reports to: Senior Manager Make Excellence

Location: Skillman, NJ. (Kenvue's corporate headquarters is currently located in Skillman NJ, but is scheduled to move to Summit, NJ in or around early 2025.)

Travel %: 30%

Pay: $97,000 to $166,750

What you will do

The Manager, MAKE and Operational Excellence is responsible for driving cost, quality, customer service and delivery through a group of External Manufacturers for the Essential and Skin Health businesses as part of Kenvue. The MAKE Excellence team is responsible for establish and achieving specific support processes and programs to facilitate the flawless execution of all key operational metrics in NA External Manufacturing Make area. The MAKE Excellence team drives the execution and implementation of Kenvue Operational Excellence methodologies, implementation of key continuous improvement initiatives to achieve business targets and performance management process.

This role will be focused on leading a cross functional Kenvue team to identify, execute and deliver Agility, Quality and Cost Improvement Projects (CIPs) to lower total product cost, improve quality and customer responsiveness. This role will drive and partner to solve performance issues and develop manufacturing strategies to improve site performance and product supply and identify improvement ways of working in transactional processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute programs across multiple sites targeted to improve operational metrics across cost, quality and customer service.

  • Facilitate network performance reviews across multiple networks with defined ability to deliver new product launches.

  • Manage continuous improvement programs and timelines to meet deadlines and ensure business benefit realization.

  • Scope, prepare and lead kaizen events to develop solutions to targeted challenges and drive implement to future state solutions.

  • Act as a change agent for continuous improvement strategies and activities

  • Evaluate and recommend effective processes and equipment and/or safety measures; provide input on capital programs, automation, mechanization, etc.

  • Develop and administer training programs to teach Lean tools and continuous improvement initiatives to External Manufacturing Team.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree is required.

  • Minimum of 6 years related experience in any of the following areas is required: Supply Chain/Operations, Contract Manufacturing, Internal Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain Sourcing, Operational Excellence, Lean Manufacturing and/or Supply Planning is required.

  • Experience working with high volume manufacturing operations in a GMP environment is required, preferably with Consumer-Packaged Goods or OTC type products is required.

  • Demonstrated experience identifying, scoping, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives is required.

  • Experience working with Manufacturing Operations in a GMP environment is required.

  • Training/experience with Process Improvement methodologies is required.

  • Proven experience working with and implementing Lean manufacturing principles: Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, SMED, A3 problem solving, Kanban, Mistake-proofing, Standard Work, Kaizen, 5S, etc. is required.

  • Proven track record of leading Kaizen events and developing improvements to achieve business results is required.

  • Prior experience establishing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) is required.

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in establishing and maintaining meaningful relationships with internal and external business partners to meet tactical and strategic business needs is required.

  • Demonstrated effectiveness leading and influencing cross-functional project teams is required.

  • 30 % travel both domestically and internationally is required.

Desired Qualifications

  • An advanced degree (MBA, MS, etc.) is preferred.

  • BB Certification in LEAN or Six Sigma is preferred.

  • Expertise in coaching on root cause problem solving and lean deployments are strongly preferred.

  • Strong project management skills are preferred.

  • Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $97,000 to $166,750. This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate's skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
