As a Macro and Micro Space Analytics Manager, you will lead a global team to analyze macro-level industry trends and micro-level consumer behaviors, shaping our strategic direction and driving business growth within the grocery retail landscape. Your insightful analysis will inform strategic decision-making across our organization, ensuring that we remain competitive and responsive to evolving market dynamics.

Job Description

Key Competencies:

  • Experience Required: Minimum of 5 to 10 years macro and micro space analytics

  • Experience Desire: Retail, Retail Grocery, Category Management, Assortment Optimization, Space Layouts, or Category Analytics;

  • The ability to interpret complex data sets and financial calculations into actionable recommendations and clearly share with stakeholders is also a must.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.

  • Must have a minimum of 3 - 5 years previous people management experience

  • Education Desired: Bachelors Degree in Business, Analytics, Finance, or related field

Job Responsibilities

  • Set the strategic vision and cultivate a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and values.

  • Provide various training opportunities and initiatives to motivate, inspire, and challenge team members, fostering their growth and professional development.

  • Collaborate closely with Merchandising, Space, Operations, and Category Analytics to align space planning and assortment optimization efforts with broader business objectives and strategies.

  • Analyze macro space utilization across stores to optimize the overall store layout - including aisle configurations, category adjacencies, and departmental zoning - to enhance customer experience and drive sales.

  • Evaluate category performance and competitive landscape to identify opportunities to adjust space allocation based on sales trends, seasonality, and customer demand. Assess the efficiency of macro space utilization to maximize space productivity while ensuring a balanced assortment that meets customer needs and preferences.

  • Analyze micro space allocation within categories to optimize product assortment, ensuring the right mix of products to meet customer demand and drive sales; this requires the evaluation of current offerings, market gaps, industry trends, and new item launches.

  • Allocate micro space within categories based on sales velocity, profitability, and other key performance metrics, ensuring that high-demand products receive adequate shelf space.

  • Evaluate customer shopping preferences in optimizing product placement to maximize visibility, accessibility, and sales potential.

  • Analyze sales data, customer insights, and market trends to identify opportunities for space optimization and assortment refinement, leveraging advanced analytics techniques to derive actionable insights.

  • Develop predictive models to forecast category performance, anticipate changes in consumer behavior, and optimize space allocation and assortment planning accordingly.

  • Monitor the performance of macro and micro space layouts and assortments, tracking key metrics such as sales per square foot, margin return on investment, and inventory turnover.

  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate analytical findings, insights, and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders, driving alignment and decision-making.
