The Manager of Logistics & Operations
What You'll Do
Logistics & Operations
Ensure regional logistics and operational resources are scaled to handle budgeted volumes that normally represent 40+% of global production volumes.
1st line management responsibility for Baltimore Port facility and budget with regards to associated vendor (min 6 staff members) for port PDI activities.
Manage regional logistics with UK Quality team for completed vehicle shipments from Baltimore to dealers, balancing delivery KPI's and cost.
Ensure logistics process enables the various wholesale / retail / cash collection KPI's are met.
Direct long-term relationship and performance of 4 leading America Region logistics vendors.
Responsible for $3.4 million logistics budget and external supply spend.
Optimize commercial agreements to meet financial targets and cost savings.
Develop and implement new vehicle import and network distribution processes.
Lead RFP process for logistics vendor contracts
Compliance
Integrate with product development and commercial teams to ensure regional compliance matters are part of future model designs and sales plans.
Develop and approve gateways with central legislative team to ensure homologation certificates are in place for US + Canadian Customs clearance and dealer wholesale KPI's.
Lead regional new model launch process to ensure all depts are prepared for import & sales process.
Direct in-region engineering & internal fleet test vehicle activities.
Act as US Customs contact for McLaren related enquiries.
VVIP/Motorsports/MSO Logistics
Strategic planning and management of non-compliant model import process for ex-works and intercompany sales.
Develop strategy in line with Motorsport KPI's and manage regional distribution in line with budget.
Act as Shareholder & VVIP Point of Contact for vehicle movement & service.
Regional representative for MSO - F1 Service and Bespoke Project logistics.
Develop regional commercial + operational opportunities for MSO.
Protect revenue streams by ensuring compliance with all legislative requirements for new vehicle and Motorsport imports.
Direct logistics vendors to meet Wholesale / Retail / Cash Collection KPI's.
Expanded commercial opportunities with MSO for special heritage projects (P1 + SLR)
High customer service levels for internal and external customers.
Reduction in logistics costs for new car and Motorsports vehicle distribution.
Shareholder + VVIP logistics requests.
Support Aftersales Dept. programs as needed.
What You'll Bring
Proven management and leadership skills
Strong IT skills and at ease with MS Office / CRM / SAP
Ability to balance daily operational requirements with longer-terms strategic focus.
Solid understanding of global and domestic new vehicle logistics + homologation processes and policies.
Ability to manage time effectively and clearly prioritise tasks for self and team.
Educated to Degree level.
Proven ability to act under pressure with calmness, clarity of thought and decisive authority.
Proven ability to manage all aspects of complex supply chains from end to end.
Passionate about sports cars segment with relevant product and industry knowledge
Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
Baltimore based with regional/international travel where necessary.
