Manages the design and implementation of the organization's training and development strategy so that the skills and performance of employees meet the organization's current and future needs. Builds and maintains strong relationships with senior leaders, key business stakeholders, subject-matter-experts, vendors, suppliers, professional organizations, and academic institutions to drive instructional design and content development practices. Responsible for aligning work to Abbotts business and talent management strategy, and seeks to collaborate across teams to drive the best outcomes for business stakeholders. Accountable for successful ownership and delivery of Abbotts Leadership Development programs.
Direct all training and development activities to ensure they are conducted efficiently, cost-effectively, and in accordance with the organization's policies and standards.
Analyze and identify the training and development needs of employees.
Develop, deliver, and evaluate training programs and leadership development curriculum so skills and performance of employees meet the organizations requirements.
Liaise with area managers to develop and implement training that are appropriate for their business needs and consistent with the overall training strategy.
Select and manage ongoing relationships with external consultants and training providers.
Stay current on developments and innovations in training and education in the industry sector so the organizations training activities remain relevant.
Oversee the development and execution of key-talent programs.
Previous experience or working knowledge of instructional design and adult education practices.
Working knowledge of program and project management processes.
Bachelors Degree and 5+ years of Learning and Development experience.
