Work you'll do

The Manager of Leadership Research and Insights will be a key player on Bersin's Research Ideation team, which sets the agenda for Bersin's research-driven insights. He/she has broad and deep experience in the leadership space, as well as a keen perspective on the interaction between leadership and other areas of HR. This role has a strong market-facing element, including consultative discussion of Bersin's insights with Bersin members and Deloitte clients. It requires exposure to the vendor landscape within leadership, and an understanding of the trends driving change in leadership practices and solutions. It also requires internal collaboration with Bersin's sales and member advisory teams, as well as Deloitte colleagues. Finally, he/she will work with Bersin's Research Execution and Content Delivery teams to guide their work in the creation of articles, webinars, infographics, podcasts, and videos relevant to leadership research and insights. The ideal candidate for this role thrives on analyzing many sources of input in order to identify patterns and make connections. He/she can pinpoint not only what is most relevant now in the leadership space, but anticipate what leadership, talent and HR professionals will need to know tomorrow.

Position Responsibilities:

Research Roadmap

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the research roadmap by identifying leading-edge trends in leadership, succession, and beyond, understanding the needs of the member base, collaborating with our sales and product teams, and maintaining alignment with Deloitte priorities.

  • Collaborate across practice areas to address the intersection of leadership and other areas of HR, with a focus on addressing unmet member needs.

Client-Facing Activities

  • Promote a personal and company brand that sets our insights apart from our competitors.

  • Demonstrate a polished, credible presence that commands respect from executive audiences within client and vendor organizations.

  • Create and deliver presentations in person and virtually to the general community and to current and prospective clients. Be a capable and confident data-driven storyteller.

  • Respond to complex member queries in-person, on the phone, and via electronic communication.

Research Activities

  • Participate in the development of research-based tools for members and to support consulting solutions.

  • Engage in thought leadership in industry forums and via social media and blogs.

Other Responsibilities

  • Interface directly with corresponding Deloitte Consulting LLP leadership to align messaging and research roadmaps.

  • Work with the product, marketing, and sales teams to help position products and solutions to prospects and members.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Human Resources, Business, research, or related discipline

  • 5+ years of business and leadership research experience with a related analyst or research firm, research center, or consultancy

  • Research background in leadership and Human Capital

  • Strategic thinking and business skills, with ability to understand key business drivers that contribute to operational and financial success.

  • Demonstrated desire and drive to be a recognized thought leader within the larger leadership, HR, and talent communities. An established network and positive brand are a plus.

  • Highly effective presentation development and delivery skills to internal and external audiences.

  • Enjoys working in a collaborative, virtual environment, providing and accepting continuous feedback and support.

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

Preferred:

  • Doctoral/Masters Degree

  • 10+ years of business experience in HR/talent management or with a related analyst or research firm, research center, or consultancy.

The ideal candidate for this role is exceptionally organized, with a passion for user experience, strong communication skills, and the drive to help agile Bersin teams bring the future of human capital to the world. Based out of our US Delivery Centers in Orlando Florida, Gilbert Arizona or Mechanicsburg Pennsylvania, you will work with the Deloitte Consulting organization to design, develop and build solutions to help clients reimagine, reshape and rewire the competitive fabric of entire industries. If not local to one of these locations, we can help by providing relocation assistance depending on how far you are moving. Our centers house a multitude of specialists, ranging from systems designers, architects and integrators, to creative digital experts, to cyber risk and human capital professionals. All work together on diverse projects from advanced preconfigured solutions and methodologies, to brand-building and campaign management. Work you'll do: This role will play a critical facilitation role in helping Bersin maintain a steady cadence of research-driven insights while ensuring a compelling Bersin experience for all research partners, participants and stakeholders. S/he has deep experience in project management, a service excellence mindset and an interest in Bersin research. Responsibilities: General * Manage overall planning, execution and delivery of projects with agility and precision * Ensure a compelling Bersin experience for all research partners, participants, and stakeholders * Track project status, manage related risks and recommend adjustments as appropriate * Ensure project milestones are met and determine mitigation if there is a risk of not meeting milestones * Provide project status dashboards and insights on a regular basis Project Planning * Work with Insights team leaders on the ongoing development and refinement of the Bersin research roadmap * Develop project plans for each research workstream, including resources required, timelines, and budgets * Create high-level and detailed views of all Bersin research in flight, identifying areas of potential overlap or strain on resources * Work with project teams to optimize allocation and coordination of tasks given available resources Work Optimization * Work with teams to remove or mitigate impediments to team performance and wellness. * Continuously identify opportunities for improvement among Insights team's interfaces internally and with other teams * Identify and implement tools and practices to monitor and improve research and content production capacity Cross-Bersin Communication * Manage communications regarding the research roadmap with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Member Advisory * Collaborate with POCs on those teams to keep member-facing collateral related to the research roadmap up to date Knowledge Sharing / Documentation * Document and file project-, team-, and Insights-level lessons learned * Deliver timely project health and performance dashboards * Establish and facilitate regular project team meetings * Maintain project artifacts including project plans, communication plans, risk logs, resource plans, and status reports Basic Qualifications: * BA/BS in Human Resources, Business, research, or related discipline * 3+ years of project management experience, including project timelines, stakeholder management, and budget oversight * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills * Enjoys working in a collaborative, virtual environment, providing and accepting continuous feedback and support.• Must be local or able to relocate to one of our USDC offices (Orlando Florida, Gilbert Arizona or Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania) Preferred Qualifications: * Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification * Project management experience in a research environment * MS Project and/or other project management software Other Qualifications: * Verifiable record in applied Project and Portfolio Management * Ability to work comfortably with stakeholders at all levels of an organization * Conceptual and critical thinker * Consultative and self-starter * Ability to manage process and advise co-workers * Experience in a product environment About Deloitte Consulting's Human Capital as a Service Human Capital as a Service (HCAS) is focused on developing and delivering a Human Capital Platform of products and research, enabling digital organization and helping clients improve their performance and better adapt to disruption in their business.
