Manager, Laboratory Operations - Plano, TX

The Manager, Laboratory Operations is responsible for management of the diagnostics laboratory, as well as, performing a variety of both complex clinical laboratory tests in accordance with established processes and procedures, when necessary. Exercises independent judgments and discretion, initiative, and resourcefulness in making recommendations about the workflow. Responsible for managing laboratory personnel, conducting, and overseeing quality assurance and quality control, and collecting, analyzing, and interpreting lab results. Plans and directs assay transfer project, facilitates IT system verification and validations testing, coordinates with equipment transfers and reagents transfers from Product Development.

• Position is onsite in Plano, TX. The position will oversee the Tuesday to Saturday 9am to 5:30pm shift.

• Bachelor's degree. Major is chemical, physical or biological sciences preferred.

• Minimum 5 years of related work experience. Molecular experience required (with emphasis on nuclei acid extractions, PCR/RT-PCR and troubleshooting of LDT assays); Microbiology experience preferred.

• Experience as a Technical Supervisor and quality management processes like Good Documentation Practices, CAPA, Root Cause Analysis, etc.

• Experience with budgets, cost analysis, capacity/throughput calculations and supply chain/inventory.

• Experience managing key performance indicators (KPIs), division goals, etc.

• Experience working with LIMS database, quality systems, lab automation and laboratory expansion.

• Effective time management, communication/interpersonal skills, accountability, and adaptability.

• Skilled in conflict resolution, crucial conversations, and change management/mindset techniques.

• Hiring salary range: $102,000 to $120,000. The actual annual salary will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
