This position provides leadership and management for the Information Technology (IT) service line within University of Utah Health Hospitals and Clinics. Enterprise Infrastructure manager is responsible for infrastructure engineering and operations, setting direction and supporting operational tasks of organizational vision and strategy. The IT Infrastructure Manager takes all necessary steps to resolve any issues and ensures communication between and within IT operations and the business.

This position reports to the CHN Rehabilitation hospital Senior Director with coodination to central IT.

This position has no direct responsibility for providing care to patients at this time.

For nearly 50 years, University of Utah Health's Rehabilitation Center has been a recognized leader in rehabilitation medicine and education. The Craig H. Neilsen Rehabilitation Hopsital will be one of the most advanced rehabilitation facilities in the nation and will serve as a catalyst for the future development of the university's rehabilitation programs. This facility houses many unique and leading edge assistive technogies that contribute to the objectives of the rehabilitation hospital.

Responsibilities

Accountability

  • Works with all leaders within the Service Delivery Area to develop, implement, assess and monitor plans and tactics that will improve outcomes while also meeting other organizational objectives.

  • Affirmatively resolves customer service escalations while effectively collaborating with clinical and non-clinical staff, and other leaders within the organization.

  • Responsible for creating project plans and giving status reports on assigned projects.

  • Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations requiring coordination with other departments and specialties.

  • Accountable for team metrics, performance and enabling high performance culture.

Collaboration

  • Acts as a liaison between senior and executive leadership to communicate and emulate strategic initiatives, best practices, and other organizational plans.

  • Contributes as a key member of the infrastructure leadership team and other committees addressing various operational outcomes and initiatives.

  • Supports infrastructure through creative thinking, streamlining processes, data analysis, and work activities.

  • Understands complex processes and roles within an integrative care organization, with the ability to work collaboratively with different departments both within ITS and in the overall organization.

Communication

  • Proactively engages with all internal and external business partners to achieve plan goals and organization business objectives.

  • Forms positive associations with staff, peers, and senior leadership to support the mission, vision, values, and performance standards of the organization.

  • Ability to translate strategy into clear, concise and actionable initiatives and action plans.

Technical Development

  • Develops and maintains market-specific tactics consistent with evolving methodologies and technologies and corporate directives.

  • Analyzes data to identify and recommend new processes, procedures and improvements within the business operation, while also recognizing the analytics are a means to improvement, not an end.

Financial Management

  • Responsible for developing, monitoring and achieving budget goals within assigned areas of direct operational leadership.

  • Manages labor and non-labor budgets to ensure efficient use of resources.

  • Responsible for managing and negotiating contracts ensuring policies and procedures are appropriately followed.

  • Establishes and manages vendor relationships.

Quality/EPE

  • Manages and promotes continuous process improvements in assigned area of direct operational leadership.

  • Identifies and recommends strategies to streamline and improve operational efficiencies within the specialty area.

Performance Management/Human Resource Management

  • Responsible to supervise assigned personnel and provide feedback on performance, including on-time appraisals and coaching, when appropriate.

  • Responsible to manage and resolve any business and/or professional conflicts in a proactive manner and to reach resolutions in a timely manner.

  • Responsible for selection of staff as part of the hiring process to ensure the right fit and acquisition of appropriate knowledge and skill.

  • Engages with staff in developing talent, career path planning, and improving staff morale and employee engagement.

Relationships and Engagement

  • Actively engages staff with updates and news as well as involving staff in decisions and work teams.

  • Knowledge of information technology related services such as, Epic, People Soft and related technologies and tools.

  • Knowledge of infrastructure related services, storage, infrastructure design, security, compute, network, backup and related technologies

  • Ability to execute public cloud-based deployments and demonstrate hybrid cloud infrastructure architecture.

  • Knowledge of automation and assistive technologies such as Crestron, voice recognition, building automation, mobil & desktop device management, and loT.

  • Demonstrate history of in-depth technology related background, showing career development of innovative use and deployment of various enterprise infrastructure technologies.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or related field or equivalency.

  • Five years of experience managing multiple technologies and services including projects from initial concept through design, implementation, and QA to delivery and maintenance of product and application.

Qualifications (Preferred)

Preferred

  • Master's degree in a related area, or equivalency.

  • Experience leading a functional infrastructure team.

The majority of their time will be spent meeting with inventors and developing relationships with potential licensees. Education of TVC's mission is a core theme of faculty interactions, the intent of which is to produce higher quality, curated invention disclosures across all university colleges, institutes and departments. Based on their significant domain expertise and vast industry relationships, Technology Managers also provide awareness to faculty of technology solutions that are most valued by global markets to influence their research efforts. Responsibilities A Technology Manager in this position will be responsible for: * Developing deep relationships with faculty and actively engaging them in the commercialization process * Managing a medical device portfolio * Participating in university outreach to educate inventors on role of TVC * Evaluating invention disclosures for their commercial potential * Working with faculty, the Manager of IP and outside IP counsel on patenting, copyright and trademark decisions * Marketing technologies to industry * Engaging industry partners for potential licensing deals * Communicating industry feedback to faculty * Executing licensing transactions to industry * Representing the university at industry conferences, from time-to-time, that are relevant to technology transfer activities On a day-to-day basis, Technology Manager will actively manage a portfolio in the medical device space.
