As the Manager of Core Operations, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining enterprise Core Infrastructure services systems in a high growth environment. You will be responsible for the operational health of the core systems that support AAMC most critical business services and require high availability. In this role you will seek and implement ways to improve uptime and operational efficiency. Acting as a liaison between the technical team and executive management and you will work effectively within and outside the team to deliver value to the business. The Manager, Infrastructure Core Services is key in our incident management strategy and processes.

You will provide direct supervision for a staff of Core systems administrators.

How will you make an impact?

  • Day to day management and coordination of the Core team in Network, Storage, Switches, backups, routers, Firewalls, telephony and other key areas including production systems, test systems, resource management and project assignments

  • Provide expertise in implementing, configuring and maintaining virtual environments

  • Provide support and design solutions for cloud environments

  • Mentor and complete performance reviews for direct reports on a continuous basis

  • Meet expected quality of service on maintenance and deployment of upgrades, enhancements, and modifications to systems

  • Participate with other functional areas to resolve production problems and initiate corrective actions

  • Lead and oversee core operations team in identifying and resolving operational problems and interacting with vendor representatives to resolve and respond to service requests

  • Promote and implement standards and procedures

  • Work within the established change control processes and coordinate appropriate downtime activities with internal and external consumers

  • Maintain and expand a comprehensive system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation

  • Identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction, efficiencies, and opportunities for cost reduction

  • Identify, assess, and present options for meeting functional and technical requirements including hardware and software updates, refreshes or upgrades

  • Manage, plan and direct staff to deliver infrastructure projects and initiatives consistent with the IT strategy.

  • Assist in the creation of project and operating budgets

  • Monitor and report on project status.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent extensive related project management experience; Master's degree is desirable

  • Eight to ten years in IT; with a minimum of two years of technical leadership and infrastructure development experience

  • Demonstrated experience architecting and integrating systems in multi-user, multi-platform, multi-tasking operating systems environments

  • ITIL Intermediate but ITIL Expert certification preferred

  • Prior working knowledge of run and maintain core environments

  • Prior working knowledge and migration to Cloud (AWS, Azure etc.)

  • ITIL processes - intermediate

If a bachelor's degree is required, related work experience may be substituted in some positions. One year of college course work at an accredited institution is equivalent to one year of related work experience.
