Act as a subject matter professional in one or more information technology financial management domains.
Analyze current business processes and governance to identify gaps and potential improvements related to ITFRM. Work to identify ways in which IT can support and advance the business objectives of Finance and Risk Management departments.
Proactively provide financial IT process optimization recommendations
Oversee the development and implementation of IT systems in support of accounting, financial planning, reporting and risk management
Manage the development and maintenance of reporting and analytical support to the Enterprise wide IT Finance and Risk Management organizations.
Ensure and maintain key IT controls as it relates to financial control, accounting practices and procedures and internal/external reporting requirements.
Coordinate legal entity financial management and performance reporting as a component of the IT enterprise consolidation and reporting functions.
Participate and provide support during vendor negotiations, as required.
Develop and maintain interaction with Internal Audit.
Collaborate with business unit key team members to assess information technology needs, define project requirements, and develop solutions.
Project Management and hands-on work:
This position will also be responsible to lead projects within the functions by planning and supervising the development of initiatives. Identify and properly document risks and issues, communicate and manage issues between functional teams and technical teams.
Actively participate in the Chief Information Officer's Senior Management Team, whose mandate is to establish the overall direction of the Information Technology department
Proactively reviews the Insurance and Finance IT environment outside the company for review and adoption, relevant best practices.
Must be willing to travel as required (10 to 20%).
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
10+ years of related experience in an international P&C (re)insurance company.
5+ years of experience facilitating the development and implementation of IT business initiatives and projects, based on management objectives.
Experienced Insurance Finance professional with deep interest in business processes and IT development.
Business Relationship Management Professional (BRMP) preferred.
Consulting experience desirable.
Experience in working in a Matrix organization preferred.
