Critical Success factors for this role:

  • Possesses deep technical knowledge across broad enterprise data management process and technology landscapes with ability to align and support business needs.

  • Creates solutions that are at the appropriate sophistication level and lifecycle necessary for the company. Solutions will have clear linkages between technology, software solutions and business performance strategies.

  • Builds a culture of innovation while driving data compliance and awareness around data management technology, practices, policies, procedures, and controls

  • Manages a team of data professionals within Information Technology and Functional Business areas, including data analysts, data scientists, and data engineers

  • Collaborates with other departments to identify data needs and develop strategies to meet those needs and that drive value to the business

  • Develops and maintains data governance policies and procedures while also ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across the organization

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, develop and modification of data infrastructure to accelerate the processes of data analysis and reporting.

  • Develop standards of operation regarding the handling and archiving data while maintaining data management plans and instructions for operating complex business systems

  • Oversee the integration of innovative technologies and initiatives into data standards and structures while evaluating the design, selection, and implementation of business requirements.

  • Oversees the develop and maintenance of policies, procedures, and controls for data management.

  • Assess system performance and make recommendations for hardware, software, and data storage improvements.

  • Works with IT Security team to ensure data and information security by integrating and upholding digital security systems.

  • Stays up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data technology

  • Manages legal and sourcing activities related to due diligence, assessments, and contract terms.

  • Coordinate and lead efforts to build a data culture that drives the use of data to turn information into value driven insight.

  • Supports overall Information Technology team in efforts to manage responsive actions for disaster recovery, business continuity, and incident response plans.

  • Communicating department goals and objectives and cascading them to others, ensuring workload is distributed appropriately to achieve goals and objectives.

  • Interpreting and ensuring Company policies and procedures are understood and consistently followed by others.

  • Leads in the development and support of staff, process, compliance and financial management.

  • Creating an energizing work environment that supports the Company's high-performance culture while ensuring an efficient and flexible organization.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Requires a four (4) year college or university degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and/or relevant equivalent experience. Mathematics, Statistics, or Science-related field a plus.

Certification:

CDMP, CAP, MS Azure Data engineer, CIMP, and/or other data certifications a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise level data management with expertise in project management and leading inter-organization change to increase efficiency through implementation of data technology.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in leading Data Management Teams in a manufacturing/ preferred consumer-packaged goods environment.

  • 5 years of experience with secure data handling methodologies, data leakage prevention, and development.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Deep technical knowledge of across a broad spectrum of data engineering including data management, analytics, data governance, data architecture, and data modeling.

  • Proven ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team to produce quality work in the development of solutions.

  • Strategic thinking and able to think long-term and see the big picture. Set goals, create plans, and align development efforts with organizational objectives.

  • Experience in data management, data analysis, or other data administration functions including collection and distribution. In-depth understanding of modern database and information technologies.

  • Excellent math, problem-solving, and analytical skills with the ability to compile and organize findings and data retrieved before presenting it to management. Experience deciphering and organizing substantial amounts of data.

  • Experience dealing with private and sensitive information. Experience in Linux configuration, SQL database, Perl, Python, or similar data related technologies/data management applications.

  • Capability to understand organization's goals, mission, and plans and how to apply data to improve existing goals, identify new opportunities, and make vital improvements to communication, marketing, and branding.

  • Experience managing a team of data professionals in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and technologies, such as SQL, Python, R, and BI tools

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to think strategically and drive data initiatives forward.

  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and big data technologies

  • Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques

  • Understanding of data security and privacy best practices

  • Expertise in selecting and partnering with external partners on technology development and ongoing support.

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to facilitate crucial conversations at all levels of the organization.

Physical Requirements:

General office environment, ability to sit for prolonged periods of time. Ability to move about an office.

Environment:

Exposure to disagreeable elements is negligible.

Safety:

The incumbent must be able to perform this job safely without endangering the health or safety of self or others.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Incumbent may have direct supervisory responsibility of highly technical managers and staff.

Annual Pay

Annual Pay Range

$165,025.00 - $247,640.00

This represents the minimum and maximum base salary range for this role, plus annual incentive. Various elements are used to determine a candidate's starting salary such as job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in the role.
