Our IT department provides the opportunity to work with progressive tools, and technology including the latest database, development, storage, and computer technologies available.

The Manager IT Collections Application is

  • Lead a Team to Support and enhance an in-house custom built Collections system.

  • Establish, manage and evolve application development technology and the software development process for speedy delivery of business requirements.

  • Align and manage Development team activities with business priorities.

  • Liaise with internal and external teams to implement technologies based on business needs.

  • Design, develop and implement applications to support company initiatives.

  • Formulate and define system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding.

  • Develop and test solutions based on requirements using company coding and testing standards.

  • Partner with Database and Middleware Administrators to achieve great application performance.

  • Document code and projects to enable others to easily understand the programs.

  • Manage solution deployment, working with others as required.

  • Modify existing or third party software for internal use.

  • Coach and mentor your team members.

Outcomes & Activities:

  • Plan effectively with other IT teams and Project/Product Management.

  • Provide effective estimates, manage team resources.

  • Gather requirements from customers; design insightful solutions.

  • Work with the internal team to design solutions to meet customer requirements.

  • Minimize customization; understand business requirements and seek simple solutions.

  • Perform assigned recurring tasks in a timely manner in order to maintain application health.

  • Identify opportunities to reduce recurring work (and/or improve performance, reduce risk, etc.).

  • Remove roadblocks and escalate where appropriate.

  • Communicate clearly with team members, customers and leaders.

  • Rigorously assess Organizational Health to effectively coach your team and drive performance.

  • Ensure your team consists of the Right People.

  • Set and enforce Clear Expectations for your team.

  • Use the Performance Management process to evaluate and coach team members.

  • Identify Training opportunities and act as the primary trainer on core Policies and Processes.

  • Create a Right Environment as measured by departmental PULSE and GPTW surveys.

  • Set your team up for operational success:

  • Get close to the work by doing work yourself and observing team members doing the work.

  • Deploy team members to handle the daily ebbs and flows of the work.

  • Enforce the proper application of department processes and policies.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, CIS or related field OR equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in IT industry working on multi-tiered Application Development.

  • Minimum of 5 years of development experience in a procedure-based or object oriented language.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Manager/Supervisor, or as a team lead.

  • Practical expertise in Agile software Development lifecycle.

  • Understand Data modeling concepts.

  • Ability to write SQL queries.

  • Good understanding of web services, messaging queues.

  • Acts as functional expert; stays current on best practices and applies them effectively.

  • Responds promptly and effectively to resolve incidents, tasks, and projects.

  • Shows initiative by working hard and smart.

  • Solves problems at the source by offering simple, working solutions.

  • Communicates changes clearly, concisely, and objectively (verbally & in writing).

  • Anticipates the impact of a change or project across multiple systems.

  • Willingness to participate in an on-call development rotation 24x7x365.

  • Champions the current process and recommends data and process improvements.

  • Remain compliant with our policies, processes and legal guidelines.

  • Work onsite at the required Credit Acceptance work location.

Preferred:

  • Financial Services Industry experience.

  • Experience of using Jira to manage and report development progress.

  • Experience with Intersystems Cache' database.

  • Experience with Ontario Systems' Artiva Collections platform.

  • Scrum Master Certification.

Targeted Compensation: $130,000-$150,000

About this Position: The Product Manager serves as the business subject matter expert and advocate for our collections systems, responsible for identifying and executing opportunities to enhance the systems with the goal of increasing customer satisfaction (measured by NPS) and positively impacting the company's goals. Outcomes & Activities: * Know the systems and users; use this knowledge to generate new ideas and support development, launch, and adoption of these new ideas. * Conduct market research, customer interviews, and data analysis to obtain information that can be used to improve the system. Understand and articulate internal and external customer needs. * Develop product feature proposals and requirements. * Lead the adoption of complex features (projects). Assist with the launch and adoption of basic features (tickets). * Collaborate with, and advocate for, Operations and Support teams to align objectives and optimize operational efficiency. * Serve as gatekeeper for feature demos. Requirements: * College degree or recent equivalent experience in a related field. * Minimum 5 years of experience as a Product Manager or related position, ideally in the finance or automotive industry. * Experience with collections applications. * Experience using data mining tools, customer experience management software, and direct observation to identify user behavior, design, and refine product features. * Basic knowledge of product proposals, product roadmaps and customer journey maps. * Experience interacting with people at all levels of an organization, including Executive Management. * Proficiency with standard MS productivity tools (Office, Visio, and Project). * The ability to travel 15-25% of the time. * Work on site at the assigned Credit Acceptance work location.
