Manager, IT Business Systems Analysts
Robert Half is seeking a Manager, IT Business Systems Analysts to contribute to and oversee team implementation of comprehensive product analysis and development. Functions as a key resource in partnership with design, IT, quality and test, and marketing as the product(s) move to completion and distribution. Works closely with management, teams and business owners to define specifications and meeting business objectives. Solicits and provides input into the design, modification, and evaluation of all phases of a specific product or group of products from definition through production and release (i.e., Product Lifecycle Management). Ensures that products released meet specifications and quality goals.
Specific responsibilities include:
Manages, directly or through subordinate supervisors, the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and effective staffing (e.g., having the right people with the right skills in the right job).
Responsible for personnel actions, including hiring, onboarding, firing, promotion, development, discipline, and employee compensation.
Provides coaching, guidance, mentoring to direct reports and next level down where and when appropriate.
Establishes, leads, manages and develops an effective and collaborative team.
Leads effective collaboration not only in immediate team but also with other IT verticals, dev team, and business partners to improve efficiencies and support quality deliverables. Monitors the collaborative process and makes adjustments as needed.
Understands and manages department and Robert Half personnel practices/policies; keeps direct reports and staff updated on general Corporate information.
Manages the development of product/system requirement definition and feature identification, including documentation of prioritized feature sets. Uses cases based on internal customer needs and business value, revising cases as needed.
Educates the team on recommendations; guides discussions to consensus and drives action items.
Leads brainstorming of creative solutions and problem-solving to balance product deliverables and resources with business needs, contributing extensive and insightful knowledge of these areas to the discussion. Ensures that promising results are communicated to key stakeholders and translated into action plans.
Manages the definition of product features and related schedules, writing of specifications based on internal user needs and business cases. Clearly communicates functionality and incorporates feedback. Regularly reviews procedures and implements changes as needed.
Monitors key metrics / KPIs and targets, developing plans to achieve those targets and proactively communicating progress to a variety of stakeholders. Periodically reviews metrics and targets to ensure alignment with business objectives; recommends changes as needed.
Receives assignment in the form of objectives and goals and determines how best to use existing resources to achieve those outcomes.
Establishes, interprets or implements Company policy and recommends changes based upon direct observations and evaluations of their effectiveness.
Works on issues of diverse scope and importance requiring thorough analysis of varied circumstances or data.
Participates in the development of the Resource Plan and relationships across businesses to ensure service models and organizational readiness support product needs.
Participates in and leads project estimating efforts as well providing input into the continuous improvement of the delivery estimating model.
Ensures team delivers infrastructure and workflow solutions to RHI standards of quality (response time, availability and user satisfaction) to field and back office users globally.
Manages creation, review, discussion, and approval of product/system requirements documentation.
Regularly reviews policies and procedures to identify gaps and outdated information; manages creation of new policies.
Manages analyses of business opportunities and initiatives.
Evaluates and recommends potential third-party technical/online solutions to meet business goals.
Investigates business concerns, identifies root causes, and documents requirements for bug fixes.
Uncovers and evaluates customer trends through benchmarking, active networking, research, user feedback, and internal customer interaction. Prioritizes and communicates most important trends to team members. Ensures that information is translated into viable action plans.
Ensures that customer data of all kinds is translated into product/service definitions and product marketing plans that anticipate the customer's current and future needs.
Collaborates with design teams in developing best practice customer-facing experiences that drive awareness, conversion, engagement, and business best practices. Seeks continuous improvement opportunities in this area.
Represents the voice of the customer to the team throughout the product lifecycle. Consistently works to discover potential weaknesses as well as opportunities to produce products that meet or exceed customer expectations.
Works closely with partners on building and enhancing passive data collection methods, quality and consistency.
Provides input into strategic plans and objectives.
Manages the process of writing requirements, triaging issues, communicating with stakeholders, and prioritizing.
Collaborates with other IT managers to create strong cross-functional teamwork.
Bachelor's degree in IT-related field or equivalent years of experience.
5+ years of team leadership, supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced IT environment in a similar role, including direct experience working for a Global Organization and/or providing cross-cultural support.
Salesforce experience highly desirable
Intermediate to advanced skills in general office systems, equipment and applications to support business needs (e.g., Excel ,Outlook, Microsoft Office, Project Management systems, Power Point, Visio).
Strong knowledge and experience with IT tools and technologies required by the department/unit as well as IT processes and methodologies including:
Documentation and validation of business requirements.
Structural analysis, data modeling, information engineering, mathematical model building, sampling, and resource planning.
Development of multi-tier business applications.
Management of full development lifecycles for software applications using tools such as MS Project, Visio, JIRA highly desired.
Knowledge of data management, business intelligence methodologies, and OLAP tools highly desired.
Strong knowledge of and demonstrated practice in customer service, business acumen, IT infrastructure technologies and end-user experience and technology project delivery preferred.
Must be able to work independently and apply good judgment.
Must be able to work within a team both as a leader and as a team member.
Must be able to analyze circumstances or data that require evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent customer-service orientation.
Strong working relationships with staff and IT Leadership (Directors, Sr. Managers, Managers, and Supervisors) and Business Leadership and teams (Corp and Field).
International experience in order to build global partnerships.
Ability to manage delivery and build effective direct reports and ad hoc teams.
Enforce KPIs used for measuring results and performing look-backs on completed projects.
Ability to identify overlapping projects and make appropriate recommendations on course of action.
