Trilogy at Vistancia: Golf Club & V's Taproom

Trilogy at Vistancia is comprised of three feature club experiences, the golf club, the original community centerpiece, Kiva Club, and the recently introduced Mita Club. The golf course, the feature restaurant, V's Taproom, the full-service Alvea Spa, and the events & weddings venue are all available to the public.

Where: Peoria, 40 minutes west of Scottsdale & Northwest of downtown Phoenix, Arizona

Pay: $52,000 annual

Benefits:

New management full-time team members working 30 hours or more per week, will be eligible for the Company medical, dental and life insurance plans the first of the month following the first day of full-time employment.

Full-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Time Off ("PTO") in accordance with the Company policy at a rate of 120 hours per year.

Full-Time team members are eligible for 7 paid holidays annually.

All team members 21 years and older are eligible to participate in the J.F. Shea Co., Inc. 401(k) plan after completion of 30 days of service.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a member of the Landscape Maintenance Team, the Irrigation Manager is responsible for the system components and watering schedules on landscaped areas within the community. This is an upper-level leadership position that accepts direction from the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate the core values and mission of BlueStar Resort & Golf (BSRG) to support the achievement of company goals.

  • Responsible for the system components and watering schedules on landscaped areas within the community.

  • Be proactive in anticipating water requirements, according to weather and plant needs.

  • Follow directions and perform tasks given under the supervision of the Superintendents. Cooperate and assist team members; contribute to the completion of daily tasks.

  • Supervise all irrigation staff activities and direct daily activities of multiple crews; coach and train irrigation technicians.

  • Work in a safe manner and use all personal protective equipment (safety gear) assigned.Make sure all team members are using equipment and safety gear appropriately.

  • Be aware of safety requirements and report unsafe conditions or accidents to supervisor.

  • Communicate daily with irrigation team to discuss challenges about work tasks, concerns about the landscape, or maintenance suggestions to improve efficiency.

  • Maintain up-to-date as-built documents, maps, and databases.

  • Monitor controller status and schedule controller repairs.

  • Schedule and supervise mainline and valve repairs.

  • Manage the Weather Trak system.

  • Collect water meter readings and maintain a log of readings, and prepare monthly

  • Monitor irrigation control system to ensure it is in optimal working condition and promptly communicate repair needs to the maintenance team or a supervisor.

  • Supervise vehicle refueling and loading of materials needed for the next day.

  • Accurately complete all daily and weekly work logs and repair report reports.

  • Conduct end-of-day review and prepare next days' tasks with supervisor.

  • May occasionally be requested to work overtime or during the weekend to assist during special events when extra labor is required (i.e. weddings, tours, openings, etc.).

  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Four plus years' irrigation experience and two years' supervisory experience preferred.

  • Document a comprehensive knowledge of landscape maintenance with references and work history.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.

  • Computer literate with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Thorough knowledge of native and desert-adapted plants, trimming, and water needs.

  • Have an advanced knowledge of irrigation components, precipitation rates, and scheduling; ability to manually operate irrigation timers and perform minor irrigation repairs to drip and spray systems.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors about job tasks and responsibilities.Contribute to a productive work environment by maintaining a good attitude with coworkers and the public.

  • Experience with, and ability to teach others, the safe operation of irrigation equipment.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret as-builts, reports, plans, labels, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and regulatory documents.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as calibration rates, proportions, percentages, and volume.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Willingness to learn new skills.

  • Must have planning, problem-solving, decision-making, delegation, time management, supervisory and employee development skills.

  • Must be willing to accept responsibility for tasks, actions, and decisions; ability to make good decisions based on sound judgement.

  • Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards; attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness a must.

  • Dependable, self-motivated, and hard working.

  • Valid driver's license may be required to operate some vehicles.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position works in an outdoor environment.

  • There may be frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions.

  • Outdoor environments may require parking and working in residential areas.Obstacles include, but are not limited to, pedestrians and city street traffic, walking while carrying equipment or driving a vehicle on property pathways or variable terrain, water, plants and the natural landscape. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, and falls.

  • The employee is occasionally exposed to Arizona desert wildlife such as snakes, scorpions, spiders, bobcats, javelinas, etc.

  • There may be occasional exposure to precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can vary depending on the equipment or machines used.

  • Employees are required to wear all assigned personal protective equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • This position may be very active and may require standing and walking for the duration of a shift, sitting and driving, lifting, pushing, digging, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, using hands to fingers, touching and holding, and reaching with hands and arms; regularly required to speak and hear.

  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
