U.S. Bank is seeking a Manager to lead a global team of Network Attached Storage (NAS / IP Storage) Engineers focused on data center technologies for IP storage and data protection technologies. The manager of this team will be highly technical with strong leadership skills to enable our vision and strategy. This leader will also focus on partnering with peer teams to implement Infrastructure as a Service, integration with configuration management teams, platform teams and end to end service delivery.

This position will manage a team to design, develop, test, debug, and implement IP storage infrastructure and tools required for the operation, maintenance, and control of infrastructure systems.

  • Executes computer system configuration management, vendor management, problem mitigation, change management, and critical situation management to mission-critical systems.

  • Conducts assessments of risk, cost, and return on investment scenarios and impact; as well as potential compatibility issues with existing hardware/software.

  • Identifies and defines new system technologies to fit specialized business needs and configurations.

  • Creates and executes a technology plan for the system product.

  • Provides consultation and technical solutions to management on systems integration, compatibility, expandability, ease of use, and multiple platform issues.

  • Manages staff of up to 20 employees.

  • Recommends and performs hires, transfers, terminations, salary adjustments, performance standards, and reviews.

  • Plans, develops, and controls moderate to large project/product budgets.

  • Primary technologies include but are not limited to, Isilon, Data Domain, ECS, NetApp and backup solutions Networker, Spectrum Protect.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • At least 8 years experience within a total information technology (IT) environment.

  • At least 4 years experience with management approaches, tools, and techniques for gaining the cooperation and support of others.

  • At least 4 years experience with utilizing, configuring, and installing software for connecting distributed software and services across heterogeneous platforms.

Preferred Skills/Experience

Working experience in:

  • System and technical integration

  • Converged and Hyper-Converged technology

  • Virtualization, Automation, Orchestrated workflows

  • Agile and Scrum methodology

Extensive experience in:

  • Capex and Opex budgeting

  • IT standards, procedures, policy

  • Product and vendor evaluation

Subject matter expert in:

  • NAS / IP Storage Technologies and concepts

  • Data Protection Technologies and concepts
