Job Description Summary
This position requires sound knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). In this role, you will be responsible for Lamb Weston's (the Company) international accounting and reporting activities including, but not limited to, reviewing & recording journal entries, translating & revaluing foreign currency transactions, consolidating financial results, analyzing & distributing financial reports, maintaining monthly accounting schedules, reviewing and/or preparing account reconciliations, maintaining and troubleshooting financial systems & processes, and facilitating timely completion of financial statement audits and filings. In this job position, a successful candidate will manage all accounting functions (treasury, financial reporting, tax, and technical accounting) across the Company's international operations by effectively partnering and communicating with stakeholders both within and external to Lamb Weston.

Support internal and external financial reporting processes in accordance with GAAP and/or other local regulatory requirements
Supervise period-end close activities including tracking tasks & processes, preparing & reviewing journal entries, and resolving unexpected issues
Exercise judgment and conduct analysis to identify and help solve issues
Coordinate with international team members and third-party service providers to consolidate the financial results of international entities that maintain their accounts and records outside of SAP
Present and review financial results with management to ensure variances are documented and understood
Perform general accounting activities in SAP as well as identify and troubleshoot issues and implement solutions
Review and prepare balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure balances are complete and accurate
Evaluate the design and effectiveness of processes, procedures, and controls to maintain SOX compliance
Effectively communicate information impacting various groups within the organization (tax, legal, HR, etc.)
Understand IFRS and other local accounting standards and reconcile differences with U.S. GAAP
Effectively work in a team environment both within and outside of assigned area of responsibility
Participate in special projects, such as FASB updates, business partner requests, business combinations, and systems conversions
Oversee the completion of statutory audits and file statutory financial statements with the respective authorities
Assist with the preparation of annual income tax returns prepared by outside accounting firms
Review and approve non-income tax filings such as withholding tax returns and VAT/GST returns on a monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly basis as provided by local laws
Record entries to account for international joint ventures in the Company's consolidated financial statements
Monitor cash balances at foreign banks to ensure ability to meet financial obligations and execute tax strategies
Help compile and prepare departmental budgets and forecasts
Continuously identify and execute process improvements
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting required
CPA, CMA certification and/or advanced degree preferred
7+ years of business experience in public accounting and/or corporate accounting required
Experience with a public accounting firm preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS
Proven experience leading and developing a team
Ability to multi-task and operate effectively under strict deadlines
Capable of researching and resolving complex accounting issues and topics
Skilled at implementing new systems and solutioning system issues
SAP system experience preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
