JOB SUMMARY

The Manager, Intermediary Compensation Programs, is an integral member of the Intermediary Partner Support team, specifically focused on managing systems, processes and data quality of Marriott's Centralized Intermediary Compensation Programs responsible for driving topline revenue for our hotels and processing over $1B annually in intermediary compensation across multiple programs. The position reports to the Manager, Intermediary Compensation Programs, and supports Marriott's vision and mission through specific initiatives and activities designed to support and enhance Marriott's competitive advantage within the intermediary segment.

Key responsibilities include providing support of centrally administered intermediary compensation to Travel Agencies, Group Intermediaries, Travel Management Company (TMC), Online Travel Agency (OTA) and Digital Marketing compensation programs; the creation, implementation and maintenance of programs, services and solutions associated with Marriott's intermediary compensation strategies; and the identification of data-driven insights with operational recommendations in support of Marriott's Intermediary Compensation programs. The position supports the Intermediary Partner Support team as a centralized commission program (CTAC) business partner to all interfacing systems (MARSHA, FSPMS, FOSSE, LightSpeed, Opera, CI/TY, MRDW, MMRS, etc.).

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience Required

  • High school diploma or GED; 6 years' experience in the business, sales and marketing, management operations, or related professional area.

OR

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 1+ year(s) experience in the business, sales and marketing, management operations, or related professional area.

  • Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (e.g, pivot tables, charting, VLOOKUP) to handle data analysis and reporting

Skills & Experience Preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to gather and organize data and information using a logical and systematic process; recognize patterns and relationships in complex data; examine data to identify implications, variances, problems and draw appropriate conclusions.

  • Strong technical aptitude.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Commission Program Support

  • Support the management of systems and processes associated with the Centralized Travel Agency, Group Intermediary, and OTA/Digital Compensation Programs.

  • Manage efforts to implement opportunities to improve technical solutions that create efficiencies and reduce costs.

  • Support internal program stakeholders to include Global Sales for Travel Agency, Online Travel Agency (OTA), Travel Management Company (TMC) and Group Intermediary compensation, Global Distribution Strategy and Digital Marketing for Transaction Based Paid Media programs.

  • Partner with external vendors to ensure they are meeting services levels, to manage escalated challenges, etc.

  • Create and/or maintain documentation for all current and future business processes and/or system enhancements

  • Perform other duties as appropriate.

Travel Management Company (TMC) Program

  • Manage all operational aspects of the TMC Preference Payment program maintenance, annual configuration, calculation and payment accuracy and any internal/external reporting.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for sales leaders and TMC Partners for support, questions, or problem resolution for all aspects pertaining to the TMC Preference Payment program and the Preference Payment Reconciliation file.

  • Identifies and recommends process improvements and efficiencies.

  • Performs other duties as appropriate.

Data Quality & Analytic Support

  • Develop and/or maintain tracking or reporting pertaining to the program(s) being administered.

  • Measure key metrics and optimization efforts to ensure programs are operating as required.

  • Use understanding of joining multiple data sources and using data blending techniques to gather data for analysis and identification of trends to support business process improvement opportunities.

  • Support UAT scenario development, testing, and post-launch data integrity validation for system enhancements.

  • Partner with the Data Analytics & Reporting team and key stakeholders to ensure accurate tracking and measurement for TMC initiatives using CTAC Data.

  • Perform ad-hoc analysis as necessary.

Subject Matter Expert

  • Provide subject matter expertise and support for all aspects of Intermediary Commissions processing including input data feeders.

  • Work with internal stakeholders to integrate strategic intermediary partners into compensation programs.

  • Collaborate with internal and external global stakeholders to support operational needs and/or implementation of system enhancements related to intermediary compensation.

  • Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to define and implement processes and system enhancements.

  • Document business process flows, UAT scenarios, and validate results for system enhancements.

  • Troubleshoot system issues in collaboration with iT and manage efforts for successful resolution.

  • Support Intermediary Partner Care for escalated process-related questions across all intermediary compensation programs.

Technical Acumen

  • Understands and utilizes professional skills and knowledge in a specific functional area to conduct and manage everyday business operations and generate innovative solutions to approach function-specific work challenges.

  • Advanced experience working with data in tools such as Microsoft Excel, writing queries.

  • Knowledge of Marriott's financial systems to include PeopleSoft Accounts Payable, Owner Franchise Billing, Marriott General Ledger.

  • Understanding of core Marriott systems, specifically: FSPMS, FOSSE, Opera, Lightspeed, MARSHA, CTAC, OSCAR, SFAWeb/CI/TY.

  • Ability to outline processes, identify refinements, and make recommendations to perfect those processes.

California Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $66,560.00 to $134,991.00 annually.

Colorado Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $63,150.00 to $122,722.00 annually.

Hawaii Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $76,410.00 to $134,991.00 annually.

New York Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $63,150.00 to $134,991.00 annually.

Washington Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $67,724.80 to $134,991.00 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus. Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.
