The Manager of Instructional Design will design, develop and implement learning strategies, programs, and processes that facilitate behavioral change, transfers critical knowledge, and develops differentiated skills in our employees to meet the needs of the business. Major responsibilities include assessing learning needs and translating those needs into appropriate learning strategies for the business. This role requires a strong focus on working collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders so that sustainable solutions can be developed, delivered and scaled.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Design & Development
Develops and implements processes to design and develop solutions that enable input from critical stakeholders, speed to market delivery and learner utilization to improve leadership capabilities.
Consults with stakeholders to assess learning and training needs, identify gaps and determine appropriate learning strategy.
Ensures learning and development opportunities are aligned with the business strategy.
Measures the effectiveness and efficiency of solutions and monitor their ongoing impact.
Solicits and incorporates feedback from subject matter experts and assess evaluation feedback to make appropriate changes.
Analyzes and shares key learnings and provides recommendations to continually improve the solutions.
Explore alternative methods/mediums of providing training to the field.
Establishes and maintains standards for content design, development, and delivery. This to include multi-modal learning strategies.
Project manages the development and implementation of Vail Resorts learning experiences (e-Learning, ILT, Informal, etc.). This includes, preparing and delivering project documentation, status reports, and communications with stakeholders.
Manage multiple projects and processes on time and on budget.
BS/BA degree required. Advanced degree or additional certification a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of instructional design and development experience.
1+ years managing others.
A strong portfolio of eLearning and ILT work that demonstrates mastery as an instructional designer.
A track record of utilizing the latest information on instructional design techniques and practices.
Possess strong content writing ability, creativity, attention to detail and excellent proofing and editing skills.
Excellent presentation and public speaking skills. Presents ideas, expectations, and information in a concise well-organized manner.
Critical thinking skills & analytical approach to problem solving and driving toward solutions.
