The Manager, Innovation Science & Technology serves as the technical member of a cross-functional team dedicated to creating innovation (product, packaging, business models). The connector with internal experts including Nutrition Science, Product Research and R&D, and external experts such as ingredient suppliers and co-manufacturers, this person is responsible for turning an idea into a feasible solution. This role reports to the Divisional VP, Innovation.

Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include:
Be a change agent, defining new ways of developing product and packaging solutions internally and externally, helping the organization become more effective and agile.
Responsible for understanding the consumer needs and translating them into technical requirements for, product formulation, scientific claims and packaging to drive the Pharmavite innovation platforms.
Acts as the technical R&D integrator, coordinating the work with R&D Discovery team of product developers and scientists to create ideas and prototype products to support the discovery of consumer insights and solutions to meet consumer needs.
Work with Nutrition Science in the discovery and evaluation of science and to define scientific claims for products that will be developed by the innovation team.
Creates and delivers fast and nimble solutions for developing new product ideas with appropriate level of scientific evidence, utilizing internal and external resources to do so, with the goal of accelerating the design and launch of new product initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a creative thinker and stronger communicator who can effectively connect technical experts to develop distinctive solutions that meet consumer needs. This person leverages his/her technical expertise and broad business view to envision possibilities and deliver growth through innovation.
You'll be most successful in this role if you have:
Strong discovery skills, particularly questioning, observing and experimenting.
A proven passion for science as a business with interest and understanding of the business side of innovation.
Experience navigating large organizations for speed.
Ability to influence and engage people in complex ideas.
Able to create strategic direction from uncertain environments.
Proven success in creating, developing and launching innovation in market.
Scientific generalist who has ability to translate the market to the scientist and vice versa.
R&D generalist with product development and scientific research experience.

In order to take on these challenges, you'll need to have:
Requires a minimum of 4 years of work experience after college, with a minimum of 2 years in innovation-related roles. CPG, Vitamin and Supplements, or OTC Pharmaceutical experience is required.
Experience working in highly entrepreneurial or start-up environment is required.
Flavor development and Sensory experience is a plus.
Proven track record of launching new products in the market.
Experience working with nutrition science projects are preferred.
Four-year college or university degree required or its equivalent in Food Science, Chemistry or other related science degree.
