Manager, Information Security Consultant - Card

Security is essential to what we do at Capital One, from protecting our customers to our associates. As part of the Information Security Officer team for a line of business, you are passionate about security and risk management. You see security as an enabler and differentiator to enable the business through innovation, not a step in the compliance process. You work with the business to understand their goals and objectives and help them meet those goals and objectives in a secure manner with a heavy forward lean on modern Public Cloud Services, Containers, and DevOps. At Capital One, you will help consult on initiatives, programs, and projects to raise their game in Information Security and Risk Management. You are pragmatic and practical in your understanding of risk and security, but also willing to know when to pull in experts and escalate. You collaborate and innovate with other teams within Capital One to push the envelope. You will lead a team of dynamic and talented Information Security individuals who want to learn from your experience and skills. You are comfortable with technologies like Cloud services, Containers, Docker, Microservices, Serverless, APIs, DevOps, noOps, FaaS, NoSQL, Immutabile infrastructure, micro-segmentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Information Security Consultants to provide subject matter expertise to project and development teams

  • Act as a central point of contact for your line of business to the rest of Capital One's Information Security and Risk Management

  • Coordinate and execute proactive Information Security consulting to the business and technology teams covering Infrastructure Security, Resiliency, Data Security, Network Architecture and Design, and User Access Management

  • Serve as an expert in Capital One's Information Security capabilities, solutions, policies, procedures and standards

  • Influence customers to leverage security capabilities and solutions to Shift and integrate security to the left in the development processes

  • Escalate and manage cyber security risk

  • Provide ad hoc support on special Information Security hot topics for the business

  • Provide regular updates to executive leadership with your line of business on the overall Information Security health and risk environment

  • Work with line of business leadership to anticipate their objectives and needs to better serve line of business

About You:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or military experience

  • At least 5 years of experience providing guidance and oversight of Security concepts

  • At least 5 years of experience performing security risk assessments and security architecture reviews

  • At least 5 years of experience with Architecture, software design, networking, and Cloud infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in securing a public cloud environment (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)

  • Experience building software utilizing public cloud (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)

  • Experience utilizing Agile methodologies

  • Experience with Software Security Architecture

  • Experience with Application Security

  • Experience with Threat Modeling

  • Experience with Penetration Testing and/or Vulnerability Management

  • Splunk-Fu / Enterprise Monitoring experience.

  • Financial services industry experience

  • Professional certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

  • Experience is Offensive and/or Defensive Security techniques

  • Experience in a regulated environment

This important role will be responsible for information security across a variety of applications and solutions and is assigned to project/initiatives that present security and privacy components. The Senior Information Security Analyst is responsible for conducting cyber security assessments that include threats, risks and impacts. In partnership with IT provide software and hardware vulnerability management. The Senior Information Security Analyst plans and develops information security and privacy measures to safeguard information against accidental or unauthorized disclosure, alteration or destruction. The successful candidate must have a customer-focused attitude and possess the skills and qualifications necessary to work with various levels within the organization, ranging from associates to executives, in order to accomplish Information Security goals at VHDA. Responsibilities will include: * Serving as an information security subject matter expert to business areas, project teams and vendors in order to apply and execute appropriate use of technology solutions; * Participating in information security and privacy efforts across all business areas and vendor engagements; * Accountable for the design and implementation of security and privacy strategy, architecture and platforms; * Partnering with IT to map out infrastructure technology architecture: to identify hardware, storage systems and networks; * Representing information security and privacy in ePMO technology projects to ensure significant projects have appropriate representation ensuring long-term success; * Developing and implementing information security and privacy educational programs and conducting awareness seminars/workshops, as appropriate; * Researching, evaluating, designing, testing, recommending and planning the implementation of new or improved information security software or devices including analysis of new or enhanced software applications or tool implementations for implications to existing information security. Qualified candidates must possess: * Bachelors' degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent education and/or work experience; * A minimum of seven (7) years of demonstrated experience in information security; * Extensive knowledge of the principles and methods applied to information technology infrastructure planning, implementation, and management; * Interpersonal, planning, management, and communications skills; ability to communicate professionally verbally, in writing, and in presentations; * Experience working with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, COBIT, etc.). Preferred qualifications include a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent certification and experience in forensics, project management, server administration, and/or network engineering. Knowledge of cloud security and cloud security controls. Working experience in IT Risk Assessments and knowledge of Information Security regulatory compliance (GLBA, GDPR, PCI, etc.).
