Northrop Grumman Aeronautics System Sector is seeking a Manager of Industrial Engineering 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse, individuals in the Aerospace Structures Business Unit (ASBU). This position will be located primarily in Clearfield, Utah.

This role is leading an industrial engineering team that is focused on the transition to rate and sustainment of a several composite fabrication programs, primarily commercial.

Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• This manager will lead 4-6 industrial engineers

• Provide technical and leadership support to the Industrial Engineering team

• Drive strategic initiatives and tactical actions that deliver results to improve program cost and schedule performance. Ensure program milestones and performance goals are achieved

• Deliver on short-term, high visibility program requests, while creating a vision and executing a long-term strategy to influence change within and outside the organization

• Coach, mentor, and develop team of industrial engineers by assigning meaningful tasks, providing frequent feedback, and rewarding positive performance. Build trust within the organization and align team towards a clear set of impactful goals

• Administer to Industrial Engineering employees; including performance reviews, merit increases, promotions, skills inventory and personal resources

• Working side by side with Operations and PMO leadership by developing tools to help them achieve all business targets

• Sourcing key IEOM talent to ensure success of the Business Unit goals

• Working in concert with other functional homerooms and shared service organizations to coordinate, direct, and support the continuous improvement of people, products, processes, systems and services

• Oversight of projects and tasks assigned to the cross-functional ASBU organization and providing direction to ensure quality, schedule and cost are achieved

• Creating long range planning & strategies for the operations team (e.g.: staffing forecasting, recovery plan schedules, line balancing assessments, EAC/Budget forecasting)

• This role requires the ability to travel 10% to support suppliers and/or program related meetings

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma and 5 years of professional experience in industrial engineering or other relevant engineering environment

• 2 years of experience in direct management or leadership of people and/or projects in a functional role with direct reports

• Experience leading operations' improvement initiatives resulting in cost savings/cost avoidance

• Experience with manufacturing environments utilizing common infrastructure and facilities for multiple programs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Science, Technology, Engineering, or Technology (STEM) degree

• Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment; at least 1 year experience in Shop Floor Operations

• Demonstrated work experience leading and building diverse teams in fast-paced, quality-centric environments

• 3 or more years of leadership experience

• Earned Value Management (EVM) and/or Estimate at Complete (EAC) experience

• Experience with Shop Floor Control (SFC) systems for various lifecycles of manufacturing products

• Proven experience in composite lay-up and cure processes, testing, machining methods, precision bonding and assembly processes

• Experience with Project Management and the execution of large scale, integrated projects across multiple functions and organizations

Salary Range: $108,400.00 - $162,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
