Responsibilities

Our exciting Manager-In-Training (MIT) program gives you the opportunity to learn and grow at an established company with over 40 years of experience. As our newest associate, you'll experience a custom interactive program that will guide you through hands-on and computer-based training, lasting approximately 8 weeks. The program focuses on different aspects of managing your own account, including:

  • HCSG's Purpose, Vision, and Values

  • Business Operations

  • Human Resources Management

  • Financial / Budgetary Management

  • Client Relations

Our promotions from within philosophy opens the door to stimulating opportunities within our company upon successful and demonstrated proficiency in the Account Manager in Training program.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Positive attitude and willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes to get the job done.

  • Ability to maintain records and complete reports as required, including web-based reporting

  • General knowledge and understanding of management techniques, and computer software

  • Good verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.

  • Must live in service area.

Oversee assigned business analysts within the IS department. Work with the business user community for the translation of business functional requirements of the users to the systems and programming group. Assist in the training and deployment of new systems implementations and act as a continuing liaison between departments to maintain currency of the various systems with the business requirements.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Assists the manager in the management and direction setting for the enterprise’s business services group including interface, coordination and reporting of pertinent activities.</li> <li>Responsible for the daily activities of any assigned staff within the IS business services group.</li> <li>Provide leadership to the business services group and the enterprise including being conversant with the future direction of the enterprise and how that direction may have an immediate impact on systems related projects.</li> <li>Advocates and enforces adherence to the software development process functional requirements.</li> <li>Forms detailed process flows to show processing logic for multiple and complex business processes.</li> <li>Functions as a project manager as required.</li> <li>Interfaces in all aspects of user consulting, business analysis, general systems design, vendor contracts and detail business specification development; learns user functions, organization and role in the enterprise to the extent required.</li> <li>Within the IS organization, maintains routine contact with systems and programming personnel; develops and maintains a close working relationship with internal mid-level managers using IS services.</li> <li>Provides leadership and direction in the development of short and long range plans; collects, interprets, and prepares data for studies, reports and recommendations; coordinates activities with other departments and agencies as needed.</li> <li>Furnishes professional advice to manager and department head; makes presentations to committees, task forces and other groups as needed.</li> <li>When functioning as project manager, insures that assigned areas of responsibility are performed within budget; performs cost control activities; monitors revenues and expenditures in assigned area to assure sound fiscal control; prepares budget requests; assures effective and efficient use of budgeted funds, personnel, materials, facilities, and time.</li> <li>Instructs and trains business analysts in technical aspects of the functions of analysis and project management.</li> <li>Interacts with external software vendors as required to support acquired business applications, providing for the definition and resolution of technical and procedural problems and the adaptation and maintenance of the applications and systems.</li> <li>Deals with a variety of operations/production problems requiring judgment within generally defined policies and procedures; assesses priorities and exercises judgment in implementing corrections.</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>Qualifications and skills:</strong></p> <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, computer programming or a closely related field; and five years of experience in computer programming and analysis; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.</li></ul> <ul> <li>A minimum of 2 years demonstrated supervisory experience. </li> <li>Property &amp; Casualty Insurance experience strongly desired but not required.</li> <li>Any equivalent combination of education and experience.</li> <li>Knowledge of various business application systems, hardware and familiar with current programming technologies.</li> <li>Understanding of Microsoft Office suite of products, current internet browsers, e-mail and business applications in a networked environment.</li> <li>Ability to interface and communicate effectively with non-technical personnel, as well as professional Information Technology staff.
