AIG Retirement Services specializes in retirement savings and investment products and services, including individual variable and fixed annuities, group retirement products, mutual funds, financial planning and investment advisory services and guaranteed investment contracts. AIG Retirement Services has been in the 403(b) market since its inception writing the first K-12 403(b) programs almost 50 years ago.

The Manager of Implementation provides leadership and direction for institutional level client projects as well as strategic planning and execution of team goals and priorities. The functions are high impact/high exposure and include any activities required to support plan sponsors in the administration of defined contribution plans. In this role, the Manager leads teams which may consist of Managers, Project Consultants, Implementation Consultants and Business Analyst.

The manager will be self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on providing a high quality of customer service, leading to sustainable customer relationships. They will be flexible, adaptive and comfortable with process evaluations and decision-making in a dynamic implementation environment.

Within the first six (6) to twelve (12) months the person in this position will be expected to:

Implement process improvements to increase the efficiency and quality of work generated by your teams Partner across the department/organization to streamline workflows between business units Ensure all projects are completed within business standards or as designated in the agreements Monitor AIG Retirement Services Implementation capabilities to ensure market competitiveness

  • Manage a team of Consultants/Sr. Consultants to ensure timely and quality service to clients.

  • Partner with Managing Consultants to oversee day-to-day plan, data and conversion consultant responsibilities; identify and communicate issues that may impact the success of the transition.

  • Set team goals and provide clear direction and guidance to ensure timely and quality results.

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with the sales team, client management and external partners; ensure team aligns with internal and external resources to meet project deliverables.

  • Serve as an escalation point for case-related issues across teams and market segment; develop and implement processes for mitigation of future issues and management of customer expectations.

  • Interview, hire and train staff.

  • Conduct team meetings and provide ongoing performance feedback.

  • Search for ways to improve effectiveness, efficiency and "value added" for internal and external customers.

  • Assist in the evaluation of new business opportunities for capacity planning

  • Keep abreast of technical developments in our recordkeeping system and other operational systems that impact our business; communicate implications to clients and internal stakeholders as needed.

  • Review and authorize exception processing

  • Identifies gaps and facilitates training needs within the team

  • Develops knowledge/content management strategy with accountability for maintenance of Implementation Tools and Reference Database

  • Coach and mentor Consultants to create capacity and efficiency within the team/department

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and five years related work experience

  • Demonstrated strong leadership and management capabilities

  • Solid knowledge of defined contribution plans and or experience in Group Benefits Outsourcing

  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer software

  • Ability to analyze data, determines root cause, and provides and/or develops an appropriate solution for resolution

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple and competing priorities

  • Proactive problem-solving ability with solutions oriented attitude

  • Ability to collaborate across other departments and teams

  • Ability to handle increasingly high volume of work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment

  • Flexibility to work additional hours as necessary to meet business and client needs
