We are looking for a Technical Program Manager, who will work with our cross-functional team in Supply Chain Technology, and cross-functional teams across Walmart Labs, to enable us to more efficiently execute on initiatives that are business critical.

Responsibilities

  • You will be the owner and driver of complex, multi-disciplinary and multi-product technology projects using your techno-functional expertise.

  • You will be responsible to ensure planning through deep discovery, scope and feature set of programs, understand and articulate detailed requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders.

  • You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

  • You proactively and effectively communicate program statuses, identify potential risks and setbacks, and develop mitigation strategies

  • You are constantly striving to develop best practices in a changing and dynamic environment to ensure on time delivery. Ensuring program documents are complete, current and available for staff and leadership review

  • You actively drive and contribute to resource planning to ensure program success and drive internal process improvements across multiple teams and functions

  • Ability to manage complex business problems in terms of people, processes, and technology to enable teams and deliver best-in-class products.

  • Able to exercise technical judgment to keep goals for programs, projects, and products realistic and attainable within a given timeline.

  • Strong communication skills that is succinct and tailored to stakeholders, team members and executives alike.

Our Ideal Candidate will have:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, related fields or equivalent practical experience.

  • Cross-functional Program Management experience working among several groups such as: design, product management, engineering, and business stakeholders.

  • Ability to understand technical subjects and emerging technologies, and their relevance to the marketplace.

  • Experience working with technical teams. Interest and ability to learn other technical areas as needed.

  • Problem-solving and organizational experience across multiple teams.

Manages multiple, medium complex eCommerce projects (for example, software development, infrastructure) with external stakeholders (for example, third-party vendors, Information System Division (ISD), Store Innovations) by driving projects through the lifecycle phases to successful completion as defined in project's charter; serving as the project team lead (for example, scrum master); managing project budget; developing and maintaining a project schedule to track milestones; developing and executing plans for managing risk; providing updates and communicating needed changes to project budget; escalating project-related issues to management according to project guidelines; providing project status reports to stakeholders and management; managing project change control processes; coordinating production issue resolution; and interpreting data to help guide teams towards issue resolution and risk management. Manages off-shore development teams and third-party vendors (for example, software vendors, hardware vendors, photo vendors, content providers) by coordinating internal and vendor schedules; integrating teams and vendors into project strategy; communicating project status; ensuring delivery of proper functionality; and managing communications from vendors to internal stakeholders. Skills required: Must have experience with: designing and developing roadmaps for inter-linked programs and projects; developing and implementing project management best practices using agile and waterfall methodology; developing artifacts such as RACI, project charters, business cases, dependency documents, decision documents, and support logs for consumption by leadership; developing project plans, burndown charts, gantt charts, and milestone plans for consumption from various stakeholders; organizing sprint planning, daily scrum, retrospectives, and translating business requirements to project backlog items (Epics and user stories) to track them using JIRA; organizing post-implementation reviews and creating knowledge documents and lessons logs; developing and executing plans for managing risks and issues, maintaining risk and issue logs, and coordinating production issue resolutions; building status reports using visualization tools such as Tableau and advanced Excel; dealing with escalations about delivery or change in scope, and devising techniques to handle scope creeps and reach schedule targets; managing projects through JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, and Roadmap tools; and dealing with complex and demanding stakeholders, and evaluating, prioritizing and adding their requests to project backlogs.
