Position Summary...

What you'll do...

  • Develops department training and mentoring initiatives by creating and conducting cross-functional team training sessions; providing insights for and mentoring and developing team members; assisting senior management in delegating workload appropriately to team; reviewing and updating process and training documentation; identifying individual and team training needs; providing one-on-one training and mentoring to associates; supporting the function by researching and forecasting tax and audit trends; providing input to company tax saving strategies; developing and presenting best practices; managing tax-related systems and process changes across the company and subsidiaries to ensure compliance by identifying opportunities for system and tax form enhancements; documenting and completing enhancement requests; and partnering with key stakeholders to design, test, and implement system improvements.

  • Ensures compliance of the process and managing audits by reviewing the reports for accuracy and integrity of tax returns, forms, and audits by assessing tax work papers related to federal, state, and international operations; working with internal and external auditors to ensure accurate financial statement reporting; maintaining and testing processes for Sarbanes-Oxley reporting and compliance; facilitating audit documentation maintenance and procedural developments by sharing audit process information with compliance; communicating audit process irregularities to appropriate management; managing risk mitigation for tax processes by partnering with cross-functional partners to identify areas of opportunity; developing strategies and processes for improvement; developing relationships with state and local jurisdictional contacts and state auditors to streamline steps in audit and compliance processes; determining system or process enhancements to ensure compliance; and presenting recommendations and influencing senior leadership.

  • Manages the execution of tax planning by updating tax analysis; demonstrating an understanding of complex tax concepts; discussing moderately complex tax issues with business teams; keeping informed of current tax developments and effectively applying tax knowledge; developing and modeling tax settlement scenarios and alternatives to determine financial and tax impact on current and future periods; and collaborating with the legal department to establish procedures for proper assertion and protection of legal privilege claims in litigation.

  • Manages medium- to high- complexity federal and state tax returns, forms, and reporting of operations by gathering financial data from departments and divisions; analyzing and incorporating financial data into returns; managing tax notices and recommending resolutions to issues within established timelines to senior management; reviewing and responding to information requisitions; processing financial and tax data using professional tax software; facilitating the sales and use tax data collection process; obtaining missing or incomplete tax data from departments, vendors, and customers; partnering with stakeholders to determine opportunities for and ensuring application of sales tax credits; determining options for tax payment; ensuring credits are taken in accordance with state and local regulations; recovering refunds; advising internal and external customers on company tax compliance practices; and presenting income tax results to senior management.

  • Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders; supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs; identifying and communicating goals and objectives; building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results; identifying and addressing improvement opportunities; and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning.

  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring and training; mentoring; assigning duties; providing recognition; and ensuring diversity awareness.

  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy; and providing direction and guidance on applying these in executing business processes and practices.

The Senior Manager I, Compliance and Ethics, is a member of the U.S. Ethics team responsible for directing, evaluating, and determining the outcome of investigations into alleged high-risk violations of the company's code of conduct, including fraud, sexual assault, harassment/discrimination, and workplace violence. This individual will also be responsible for identifying and mitigating ethics risks by providing insights and process refinements to multiple business partners throughout the company. You'll make an impact by: * Managing ethics investigations from assignment to closure, including making findings of facts to determine investigative outcomes and, when necessary, provide accountability and remediation recommendations. * Receiving allegations across multiple business segments, identifying all issues requiring investigation, making a risk based assignment of the investigation to the appropriate investigative partner and ensuring consistent outcomes across different subject matters. * Working with Investigations, People, Legal, and other business units to strategize and ensure a thorough investigation is performed into allegations of misconduct. * Planning and aligning with investigators regarding proactive strategies for investigations. * Drafting concise, accurate and complete executive-level summaries of investigations that provide key information that can be viewed by leadership and provide a coherent understanding of the issues, findings, and outcomes. * Partnering with key stakeholders to provide insight and trends into allegations of misconduct, ensuring a broader review of risk in order to take a proactive approach to instilling a culture of integrity and inclusiveness. * Promoting and supporting company policies, procedures, missions, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others about their use and application.
