The Manager II, Enterprise Projects (PM 2), is an experienced Project Manager accountable for the delivery of enterprise projects, for the governance over a portfolio of small projects. The ideal candidate has a track record of successfully implementing both enterprise custom built and vendor solutions incorporating both project and change management best practices. Deals comfortably with facilitation of group discussions and management presentations, and has a working knowledge of and vocabulary for technology.

This position manages multiple individual projects of about $2-$4M or more in total cost. The level of internal visibility and influence is high. This position is highly cross-functional and will interact with Matson executives and numerous management personnel while managing cross-functional project teams of as many as 20 people.

50% - Manage one large or multiple small/medium projects. Ensure the on-time delivery of all project phases. Surface issues clearly and immediately to management and document their resolution. Ensure that resources are properly planned and committed. Ensure that deployment is fully managed through completion.
50% - Evolve and improve existing delivery methodology through use and development of standard tools such as project plans, status reports, and related deliverables

  • Willing to own and maintain teams' commitment to successful completion of project regardless of shifts in environment.

  • Uses software development skills to successfully implement small, medium or large-sized custom build projects from inception to transition while staying within budgetary guidelines.

  • Detail-oriented use of project tracking tools and administration.

  • Acts appropriately according to defined process and procedures to resolve conflict.

  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Management or equivalent experience.

  • 8 or more years' experience as a Project Manager.

  • Experience in defining and achieving organizational buy-in on objectives and success criteria. Exercises sound judgment in identifying and resolving issues. Practices discipline in tracking project progress. Ensures methodology is rigorously followed.

  • No direct reports, however, within the context of executing the project deliverables, all core project team members report into this position for the duration of that project, answering to the extent of the project manager's assigned authority.
