Position Summary:

Located in either our Charlotte NC or Florence KY facility, the Commercial Operations Manager is a key leader in the Product Management function supporting the Commercial Gearing group within Industrial Powertrain Solutions Gearing Division. This position is hybrid with 3 days in office.

This critical position is responsible for driving profitable growth through the tactical execution of the strategic plan. The Commercial Operations Manager will lead a team of 4-6 professional and administrative technical associates who provide differentiated service for Regal Rexnord's key products and top customers in application engineering, customer service, and quoting roles. Significant collaboration is expected with the inside and outside sales teams to enable growth to key customers and markets.

Internally within the Commercial Gearing group, this role will provide influence for the commercial quote and order processing teams. The role will be expected to run the business with the expectation of attainment of appropriate service levels. Particular emphasis will be placed on using process improvement, Lean, Six Sigma or other tools to drive customer satisfaction.

Additional responsibilities will be providing the orders forecast for the products within the scope of responsibility. To be able to effectively communicate to the plants as well as to Gearing Division leadership on expected future orders to support attainment of the revenue plan.

Leadership may include remote teams including out of country associates; therefore, additional effort may be needed to provide the appropriate level of guidance and support.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Leadership & Talent Management:

  • Conduct business in accordance with Regal Rexnord's Core Values.

Orders and Sales Support:

  • Monitor sales pipelines, track performance metrics and identify growth opportunities.

  • Collaborate with sales and internal business partners to drive customer acquisition and retention.

  • Create the order forecast for the areas of responsibility.

  • Work closely with the operations and plant teams to ensure timely delivery of products.

  • Support the management team with insights on product and customer volumes.

  • Deploy commercial programs and align the team to deliver the needed growth.

Contract Negotiations & Risk Management:

  • Negotiate contracts and Terms and Conditions with customers.

  • Assess and mitigate risks related to commercial operations.

  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor credit risks and payment terms.

Annual Operating Plan (AOP) Support:

  • Provide the tactical execution and commercial support to deliver the orders and sales plan.

  • Provide appropriate service levels to support the expected business growth.

  • Collaborate on key priorities with the sales team to deliver to the sales targets.

  • Provide tactical pricing decisions in alignment with profit goals with an aim to seed the market with our target products.
    80/20 Complexity Reduction and Pricing:

  • Execute tactical pricing decisions aligned around profit expectations and in accordance with the product strategies

  • Drive solutions for product mix with demand shaping strategies.

  • Implement portfolio simplification & complexity reduction for margin expansion using core 80/20 principles.

Required Experience:

This position is subject to policies and procedures set forth by the State Department and applicants who do not meet such requirements will not be eligible for the position.

  • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Engineering, Operations or Business/Marketing

  • Minimum 5 years of related and progressive experience, ideally in a manufacturing industry.

  • Strong experience interacting with both internal and external customers is required.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% as needed, domestically and internationally.

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous people leadership is beneficial but not required.

  • 80/20 complexity reduction and simplification experience is a plus.

  • Proficiency in relevant ERP systems (Oracle and/or SAP) and CRM (SalesForce) is a plus.
