Responsibilities

We currently have a great opportunity available for an Human Resources Manager. The HR Manager will be responsible for providing expert employee relations services to all associates and managers in the US, Canada & Latin America (Florida office) to support a dynamic and positive work environment.

The HR Manager will collaborate with various business groups to facilitate the delivery of HR services as appropriate. In addition, this individual will manage the HR activities and processes in the areas of policy and legal compliance, immigration, leaves and special projects. Reports directly to the Director of Human Resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides expert guidance and coaching services to managers and associates for all business groups. Leads ER investigations and independently responds to and resolves difficult employee relations issues and performance management concerns.

Builds positive relationships with managers and associates to anticipate needs and effectively meet expectations and deliver results. Considered the subject matter expert regarding ER policies and practices. Able to identify and manage risk.

Applies, interprets and communicates company policies and guidelines to associates. Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations are in compliance. Manages the job descriptions process for all positions within each business group.

Manages the administration of STD, LTD, FMLA and military leaves for all business units. Assists with processing worker's compensation claims as needed. Supports the Annual Performance Review process.

Provides guidance and coaching as needed to associates and managers. Assist the L&D team to support the training of new managers/supervisors. Reviews employee engagement survey results with departments and supports the action planning process.

Participates in talent review meetings to provide feedback and guidance to managers and associates. Supervises the immigration process for inpats, expats and new hires as needed. Supervises the day-to-day activities of direct reports. Leads various projects and other duties as requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources required, including experience in the Armed Forces. In addition, 8-10 years of experience as an HR Generalist in a public sector setting with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role.

  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.

  • English.

  • Must have excellent PC skills and have demonstrable experience using PowerPoint, Excel & Word. HRIS experience required (SAP preferred).

  • Able to multi-task and prioritize in a dynamic and evolving organization.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with associates at all levels of the organization.

  • Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive data and information. Excellent interpersonal skills and works well in a team environment.

  • Must be organized, detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks.

  • Ability to apply policies and procedures to practical situations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Director of Human Resources has responsibility for these areas: * recruiting and staffing logistics. * performance management and improvement tracking systems. * employee orientation, development, and training logistics and recordkeeping. * assisting with employee relations. * company-wide committee facilitation and participation. * company employee communication. * compensation and benefits administration and recordkeeping. * employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health reporting; and * employee services. * maintaining electronic personnel records and documentation The Director of Human Resources contributes to the accomplishment of human resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for the implementation of services, policies, and programs; reports to the General Manager, and assists company managers with HR issues. Development of the Human Resources Department * Administers programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company. * Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems. * Assists with the tracking of departmental and company measurements that support the accomplishment of the company's strategic goals. * Prepares and maintains reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the human resources department. Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested. * Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as necessary and to represent the department. * Participates on various committees to provide HR support and to monitor activities and completion of goals. Benefits Administration * Conducts benefit orientations and other benefit training, as needed. * Processes enrollments, changes, and terminations of participants in all benefit plans and programs. * Assists employees with any benefit claim issues or concerns. * Communicates the 401(k) plan to employees and collecting documentation for enrollments and loans. * Point of contact for all workers compensation claims. Training and Development * Schedules participants into training sessions. * Tracks participants and training records. * Enters training records into database and maintains it. * Maintains a 'certified trainer' status and participates in or leads property training. Maintains a team of property 'certified trainers'. Employment * Advertises employee job openings first, internally, and then, externally, in keeping with company recruitment policies. Manages the logistics of the recruiting process. * Utilizes ATS (Newton) for the full-cycle of employee recruiting: posting jobs, reviewing applications/resumes, scheduling interviews, communicating with candidates, and job offers. * Imports new hire information from Newton to Paycor in order to generate electronic onboarding paperwork. * Schedules and conducts new-employee orientation, along with General Manager. * Participates in at least one salary survey per year. Employee Relations * Assists in the development and implementation of an employee handbook and new personnel policies and procedures. * Assists with the implementation and tracking of company safety and health programs. * Orders flowers and cards for employees for events such as illness, death in family, birth, graduation, etc. * Maintains appropriate neutrality and confidentiality of employment, non-employment and disciplinary information. * Implement or assist in all "Employee Recognition" activities i.e.: picnics, holiday party, awards and incentive. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Direct supervisory responsibilities for Human Resources team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
