Job Scope:

This opportunity will be based at the Company's Massillon, Ohio location. This position will be responsible for managing all human resource and employee relations activities at this North American Food Division manufacturing site. The position reports directly to the Plant Manager. Additional responsibilities for this role would include the following:

  • Support the plant in all employee relations matters and any related activities

  • Manage all staffing and recruiting activities both for the hourly and salaried workforce

  • Provide support for all Health & Safety related activities at the plant along with other members of the plant management team

  • Facilitate employee team activities

  • Manage the various reports such as attendance and payroll

  • Develop, design and roll-out training programs for both management and hourly employees

  • Maintain all employee personnel files

  • Administration of the plant's Affirmative Action Plan

  • Investigation of any harassment charges and coordination with any outside agency audits or investigations (EEOC, OSHA, etc.)

  • New hire orientation and training

  • Workers compensation claims and investigations

  • Coordination of the plant's safety programs and participation on any applicable committees

  • Leadership development

  • Development/implementation of Change Management Strategy

  • Organizational effectiveness

Job Requirements

A successful candidate for this opportunity should have the following competencies and attributes:

  • BS and/or MS degree in Human Resources Management or a related discipline

  • 10+ years of experience in Human Resources in a managerial capacity

  • Prior or current working experience in a manufacturing setting is required

  • PHR or SPHR certification is a plus

  • HR generalist background with expertise in recruiting and employee relations

  • Successful history of working with and managing a team-focused environment

  • Thorough knowledge of all appropriate state and federal employment laws

  • Proven experience with effective corrective action and disciplinary measures

  • Experience in developing and presenting a variety of employee relations training

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software

  • Effective presentation skills and communication skills (both verbal and written)

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively

  • Change management and organizational effectiveness skills
