Job Description :

Working to optimize backup infrastructure with NDMP, disks, software and different OS types.

Capacity management for the backup environment.

Trouble shooting Backup and Restore related problems and Server Monitoring.

Administering DR solutions and support data protection projects.

Support process enhancements and designing backup solutions.

Evaluation and validation of existing backup infra and architecture components.

Creating of SOPs/SIPs/LLDs/HLDs- and architecture related reports and storage components.

Analysis and managing SLA requirements for existing project work.

Managing, planning and leading DC DR restoration drills.

Project tasks to decommission legacy backup infrastructure and refresh life cycles.

Creating Legacy Logs, setting Verbose Level for Legacy Logs, Collecting Legacy Logs, Creating VX Logs and setting the log level, Collecting VX logs.

Execution of backup polices and analysis of DR services.

Provide support in the development of backup management and business recovery plans

Perform functions pertaining to the business risk assessments

Review and develop business recovery strategies, draft procedures for identifying failures and invoking contingency plans

Monitor day to day backup operations and bring in standards based on site challenges.

Create response procedures and identifying communications channels

Communicate with various response teams during testing and actual requirements

Work with the incident and problem management on root causes and proactive avoidance of future incidents on backup and recovery systems.

Required Skills:

Previous experience in business or disaster recovery planning.

General knowledge of business processes, management structures, and technology programs/platforms are preferred.

Strong experience with backup, recovery, DR & replication technologies is a must.

Specific Vendor Backup Admin Certs (Veritas, CommVault, Veeam)

Understanding of cloud backup/DR solutions

Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills.

Strong verbal and written communications skills are desirable.

Strong understanding of various backup/restore tools and technologies available and determine best for the situation.

Must be able to work & communicate with internal teams, clients & remote site resources by following best practices.

Lay out architecture and design for next generation software defined backup platform.

Identify, evaluate, PoC, design, test and automate backup architectures around object and file storage as well as cloud integrated backup and recovery pipelines.

Responsible for the planning, administration, troubleshooting and support for all backup related infrastructure.

Integrate backup platform logging APIs with data pipelines to establish effective monitoring, dashboards and self-healing platforms to facilitate a data-driven approach to problem resolution, capacity management and costs effectiveness.

Expert level in enterprise data protection architectures (tape, tapeless, cloud, object storage, etc.), concepts (virtualization, archive, deduplication, etc.), and backup solutions.

Expert level in architecting and engineering storage solutions relating to object storage, private Cloud, public Cloud (AWS, Azure, etc.) hybrid Cloud, SRM, Software Defined Storage, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuance, end-to-end host to storage connectivity

Work closely with the System Administration, Database Administration, Network Administration, and Information Security teams to plan, design, and architect improvements, additions, and system upgrades.
