The manager of BI&A GPS Business Performance Management will work closely with GPS Stakeholders to support Business Performance Management Metrics, Support business to make fact based decisions with appropriate advanced analytics. Work closely with the other BI&A GPS Analytics teams to drive analytical capabilities and work on opportunities to improve metrics.

The Manager, GPS Business Performance Management, will work towards these objectives.

Supporting Business Performance Management Metrics

  • Accountable for daily / weekly / monthly delivery of all performance metrics such as Inventory Management reporting, Customer Service Metrics, Global Brand Scorecards. Includes gathering business requirements, report design & development, UAT, training and on-going support

  • Driving Analytics and Capabilities to answer key business questions by generating business insights, analyzing trends, identifying root causes, and providing actionable recommendations.

  • Support Inventory Budget Process and ad-hoc requests from stakeholders, including yearly metrics target setting.

  • Strong understanding of supply chain process and the various metrics used to measure performance. Develops and maintain a deep understanding of GPS business priorities to ensure timeline for meeting agreed upon analytics deliverable is adhered to.

  • Proactively manage planned and ad hoc analytics requests, ensuring consistent quality and timeliness in delivery to business stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to address priority business questions, provide insights, drive report enhancements and utilization and conduct ad-hoc analyses to support decision making.

  • Work cross organizations such as BI&A Forecasting, Global Procurement, Finance, IT and Manufacturing working in partnership with stakeholders.

Supporting Business Decisions

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to proactively identify and address priority business questions within an assigned area (e.g. Manufacturing, Quality or Supply Chain). This includes all steps from problem identification and key question development through hypothesis testing, driving analysis and presenting key findings to stakeholders.

  • Identifies and contextualizes critical business issues, working to embed an objective and unbiased point of view into the business conversation

  • Drives the application of fact based decision making for key questions within the GPS portfolio enabling priority business choices

Driving Analytics and Capabilities

  • Designs, develops and implements a broad array of business analytics that solve complex problems in a computationally efficient and statistically effective manner

  • Identifies new opportunities to further leverage analytics, data and analytical tools

  • Ensures best practice adoption within stated areas of responsibility, applying appropriate levels of technical capability, standardization and subject matter expertise

  • Leverages standards for the provision of analytics to support planning and decision making processes, and utilizes appropriate escalation processes

  • Provides input/feedback and works actively to improve and enhance capabilities related to the GPS BIA team

  • Supports culture of analytics and fact-based decision making through the utilization of standard methodologies and approaches

Driving Team Productivity and Operational Excellence

  • Supervises broader team of contracted or other staff, manage the team's Book of Work (BoW) and ensure timely delivery of high quality services and deliverable artifacts

Experience:

  • B.S. Degree in Information Technology or a quantitative field of study

  • MSci, MEng or other Masters in quantitative area of study, analytics or data science preferred

  • 6+ years of experience developing and using advanced analytics and reporting techniques.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with analytics, modeling platforms, data manipulation software and visualization tools such as Advanced SQL, PL/SQL, R, Python, SAP HANA, Spot fire, Tableau, Microsoft Suite, Hadoop, Redshift

  • Ability to quickly gain and apply manufacturing specific knowledge

  • Ability to learn new tools quickly

  • Knowledge design lead thinking principle scorecard to answer business questions

  • Strong experience in full cycle projects from business requirements, design, development, implementation of dashboards and scorecards, etc.

  • Experience in analyzing large data sets and interacting with relational databases to interpret analytical results and ascertaining implications to the business

  • Experience interacting with senior management and business stakeholders understanding, anticipating, and fulfilling their insight/analytical information requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in Supply Chain business processes for Inventory Management and analytical skills including root cause analysis.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse teams across organizations

  • Proven ability to lead small teams/groups, influence cross-functionally and manage a heavy workload

  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and priorities

The Business Manager III Supervisor provides a variety of business services including budget, accounting, and grant administration to a portfolio of academic departments and programs-Department of the School of Arts and Sciences Newark (SASN). Responsible for team of staff covering different departments and programs and all of their activities, ensures all functions performed accurately, thoroughly, within appropriate and relevant deadlines, and in compliance with all applicable policies and processes, including, but not limited to, budget and financial oversight, procurement, appointment and payroll, grant administration and accounting, travel and expense reimbursement, and financial reporting. Position is a key resource to Departments and advisor to the Dean's Office, developing an administrative team to enable the provision of excellent support to the faculty and staff of the Departments.
