We are seeking a Global Performance Manager in New York to support and manage the enterprise-wide global performance strategy along with program design, management and integration across the HR ecosystem. In this role, you will support the enterprise goal to move to continuous and flexible approaches to performance which will help American Express take a pioneering lead on this front in the market place.

What You'll Do

  • Play a key role in supporting end to end Enterprise wide Performance Management strategy and programs with a focus on enabling the team elevate performance of colleagues in support of our Framework for Winning and deliver on its commitment of continuing to deliver a best in class Performance framework

  • Responsible for taking a lead role in managing the enterprise Performance Management cycle including goal setting and annual evaluation Process

  • Hands on Program management responsibilities including technology solutions and enhancements. This will include taking first point for Internal performance platform(s) where Performance is hosted to ensure user experience is seamless and positive

  • Play a key role in researching, developing, testing and deploying tools and resources that enable leader and colleague education and support the enterprise objective of creating a cultural shift where performance is seen as something to continuously develop versus being managed by leaders

  • Define end-state processes and organizational models needed to support any tool deployment and work plan to get there, and provide content expertise, project management skills, and change management experience to operationalize initiatives focused on the deployment of digital tools or platforms.

  • Help translate strategic and operational concepts into value-realizing prototypes and solutions.

  • Offer thought leadership and creativity to inform our practices and introduce new insights;

  • Bring experience and creativity to solve problems in novel ways

  • Consult and collaborate with business leaders, HR Business Partners and the Centers of Expertise including Talent and Learning.

  • 3- 7 years of Performance management experience with experience leading HR solutions and implementation projects

  • Solid understanding of performance management methods and practices with applied program design, management and delivery experience

  • Passion for driving global solutions, including strategy planning, training and technology solution design, and multi-year project management

  • Proven track record of applying expertise to deliver business impact

  • Experience in dynamically responsible positions, including experience working with global teams

  • Effective collaborator that seek to gain consensus through influence, and to work across teams to address business needs; Ability to operate independently

  • Experience with data analysis and program management is necessary

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Brings solution-focused mindset and experience using creativity and innovation to analyze complex problems is highly desirable

  • Level of understanding of organizational and cultural change management methods is highly desirable

  • Curiosity about workplace trends, and implications for a global, multi-generation workforce

As a Senior Manager, you are expected to contribute to the firm's growth and development in a variety of ways. You will be responsible for engagement management: Lead engagement planning and budgeting; mobilize and manage engagement teams; define deliverable structure and content; facilitate buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client; direct on-time, quality delivery of work products; manage engagement economics; manage engagement risk. Senior Managers manage day to day interaction with executive clients and sponsors. You will be expected to participate in Business Development, develop and maintain contact with top decision makers at key clients; organize and lead pursuit teams; participate and lead aspects of the proposal development process; contribute to the development of proposal pricing strategies. Senior Managers must contribute to Practice Development & Eminence: Develop practical solutions and methodologies; develop "thoughtware" and "point- of-view" documents; participate in public speaking events; get published in industry periodicals. We invest in our people, as a Senior Manager you will be responsible for people development, performing the role of counselor and coach; provide input and guidance into the staffing process; actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities; provide leadership and support for delivery teams and staff in local offices. The team Finance & Enterprise Performance Our Finance & Enterprise Performance team works as a trusted advisor to CFOs, COOs, CIOs, and key executives. We advise, implement and deliver as-a-service solutions, helping our clients develop strategies and capabilities to support enterprise-wide decision-making, improve finance operations, and create impact within their organization. Senior Manager Qualifications- GBS Required: * A minimum of 10+ years consulting and/or industry experience is required * Must have subject matter expertise and project experiences in Shared Services, Outsourcing and/or Offshoring industry, or multiple back-office functional optimization * Shared Services Feasibility Assessments, Implementations, and Optimization * Ability to analyze and apply outsourcing trends * Practical experience with the full lifecycle of functional optimization, BPO and/or shared services programs * Core vs. Non-Core Assessments * Understanding of vendor landscape * Ability to interact at all levels of the client organization * Business Development and Delivery experience * Bachelor's Degree * Ability to travel 80-100% * Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
